My question is, should I go back and get the transmission out of the Regal? It "may" have some upgrades also?? Will the Regal trans work with the Bonneville's computer? I was wanting a fast reply which is the reason I didn't use the search...my apologies.
I've aquired me another SSEi.

Its a 1999. White with charcoal interior. I found it on craigslist for $600 but got it for $300. Anyway, the engine was blown up and upon teardown, one of the pistons wasn't on the rod. The rod busted a hole in the side of the block. Fast forward to last weekend. I went to a local you-pull-it yard and bought a engine from a 97 Regal as a replacement for the Bonneville's. The bad news is this engine had low compression on one of the cylinders. So, I tore the engine down and discovered it had a modified supercharger, modified intake, ported heads, this camshaft, aftermarket pistons, polished factory rods, upgraded valve springs with aftermarket retainers and an INTENSE computer. The supercharger pulley was missing so I'm guessing someone took it off at the salvage yard. This was suppose to be a "regular engine" so I could "flip" the car and make money. Now, I want to keep it! All that for just $393...out the door.

Regal trans 99% likely won't work between mounts and programming, and has a shift kit at best, and a lot of beating on at worst.

I was thinking the trans may have some "hard parts" in it to hold the power this engine might have been putting out. Not really sure how much power it may have. I'm thinking somewhere around 300HP...maybe upwards of 350?? I'm not even sure what size supercharger pulley to buy for the engine after I get it running.

Unlikely. The trans was likely the reason the car was in that JY, unless it was wrecked? Either way, I doubt it's worth it. Car likely made 325 crank HP....

Re: I've aquired me another SSEi.
The Regal had a fire under the hood. It was crispy from the radiator to the firewall. I figured since it was a fire that destroyed the car, the engine may have been good. My luck was bad, yet turned out good as far as the performance parts.
So basically, I'll need the 99 Bonneville computer reprogrammed for the upgraded performance parts and a shift kit for the Bonneville trans.

I may have to use this engine/trans as a complete swap into my 1988 LeSabre T-Type. Then, try to find another donor SSEi to get the white one up and running again to resell...

Re: I've aquired me another SSEi.
So, I've found another 99 Bonneville SSEi (maroon) for $800 that runs and drives but needs paint. Looks like I'll be getting the white Bonneville running to sell and just use the maroon Bonneville for it's drivetrain to swap into my 88 LeSabre.

Re: I've aquired me another SSEi.
Engine is out of the maroon car and has been installed into the white car.
The maroon car is now a donor car.
The white car is for sale. I'll be posting it on Craigslist. after I get everything working on the car.

Hi,
Any chance you still have this maroon bonneville for parts?
I am looking for a real left door and left rear-view mirror (my 98 maroon SSEi was side-swiped).
Thanks.
