Is a braided flex pipe needed when you add headers?

Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

Is a braided flex pipe needed when you add headers?

Post by DV327 »

I got a great deal on a set of Stainless Works headers for my 2002 SSEI. Their set up doesn't include a flex pipe. SW said it wouldn't be needed. I have installed them and haven't really floored it, yet. Should I add one?

I would, otherwise you'll find the rubber mounts on the rest of the system might break.
