Talk about modifications, or anything else associated with performance enhancements. Have a new idea for performance/reliability? Post it here. No idea is stupid! (please use Detailing and Appearance for cosmetic ideas)

I know for a fact my car would smoke any car on here if I did a turbo swap, cam swap, ported heads, race prepped short block, headers, and a massive shot of nitrous.
What time did you get up and smoke your breakfast? That's a ricer excuse if I have ever heard it....
Not saying his car is slow by any means, but you can't run around saying stuff like that especially if you DON'T know (no, you don't know)

Fact?
He's even had to dispell this myth before.
H body with an S1 in the 13's? There's less than 10, maybe less than 5. Getting an S2 into the 12's? Not wildly hard, between GP and Bonneville boards, it's pretty well sorted out. The S1 is capped by it's heads/intake and the power adder. The M62 just cannot make huge power.

Well spoken, my friend.
I'm an S1 fan if there ever was one, but they just don't compare to the S2, at all. ZILLA has a lot more money and time sunk into it than most cars on this board will ever dream about having. Not a very good example or argument point.

Where are the facts? What s1 car is running a solid cam and regularly smokes every s2 that it happens across? Furthermore how many 3800's, or cars in general have you built and tested and tuned to determine all the "facts" you bring up.

Just a little true info, here is a video of a 12.3 run in a series 2 GP driven by our member on here (PDXGTP). He has put a lot of work into this car and it is fun to see it run. This video is him racing a Lambo:

Haro never had BadSSEi. IIRC Intense still has it. That car is either going to remain a full-race car, or get stripped and crushed. It's still caged with a racing suspension. Not worth converting back to stock.
You also might be thinking of 8-ball, which was owned by Todd Allen (Rogue) and sold to an Ohio GP member, almost immediately after it got smashed into and totalled...

To the OP: The series I is a good engine, and has benefits that the Series II doesn't. Bill chooses to run the Series I because he has a great, rust-free car and he prefers the massive torque and the whole "dare to be different" attitude of the car.
Don't be such a hater. Bill doesn't hate the Series II, hell, he ported a supercharger for my car, among many other Series II owners, including harofreak00, Pontiac Dad, silverbullet, etc. He just hasn't chosen to buy and mod one for himself yet, for whatever reasons. Will he? Not sure, but it would be an excellent car if he did.
Are there any other SERIES 1 motors that have a cam and are modded to ZILLAS level? Willwren might not hate the SERIES 2, but ZILLA does, if it were given a chance and a cam.......I think a lot of people would be proved wrong.
Willwren's 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi aka GreenZilla, doesn't hate anyone or anything. It's an inatimate object, an automobile designed to be operated for the purpose of moving people and items from place to place.
Please don't speak for Mr. Wren or his car. You don't know him half as well as anyone else on this forum, and are obviously so blinded by your own opinions and beliefs (some of which he has instilled and you take as absolute truth and fact) that argument with you is as effective as talking to a wall. Actually, it's less effective, as a wall doesn't argue back with un-evidenced data...
Please lock this thread, we're not going anywhere with it...

A series I is a good motor, and can be made to make power.... But when it comes down to it, its far simpler to use a series II due to the sheer support for the series II/III... Its not a far shot to get a series II into the 12's in a pretty large car...
Anything can be built to make power.... It all comes down to time and Funds...
as for solid lift.... In a daily driven car, I would not recommend this at all... If it was a race application where every bit counted then I would absolutely say yes...
The majority of 3800's that are driven and raced are running Hydraulic Roller Lifters, most either AC Delco( stock units ) or Comp Cams lifters....
