the bonneville has been around to long to leave now..that and its in to great of shape..shy of it staying in the club i doubt it would ever get the treatment you give it each year

Yep, dual to the muffler. I test drove a truck like this that had dual flowmasters that sounded awesome, but i didn't look to see which series muffler they were. I'm normally not a flowmaster fan.

well first off.. every flomaster is going to sound a little different and keep in mind i have a 5.2L aka 318 so naturally my experience will be different..but ive heard a flowmaster on about everything..and if it were me and i had your 6.0 i would run twin 40s
mine is a single in single out 2.5 OD 40 and i love it..its ten years old and still sounds brand new only a little loud..i dont have any problems with rasp..mine wakes up the neighbors every time i start it..but that falls more on the advanced timing, reworked intake and hollowed cat..but if you just cut off your stock muffler and threw on the twin 40s it wouldnt be near as loud as mine
40 is one of the better series IMO cause its not the loudest flowmaster or the most quiet..
if your truck were mine and i had a chance to tweak the exhaust..id do headers(mid range) magnaflow HF cat and twin 3" 40s with some classy tips
EDIT and yes..the 40 series is the most common as far as different applications go...im glad your being smart and staying away from the 44s..they will make you deaf on a 6.0

I'm also thinking about straight pipes. I put straight pipes on the Camaro, and it is honestly about the sweetest tone of any exhaust I've ever heard. Very tame, no rasp, not loud enough to bother anybody, but the engine sounds huge and melodious. But the Camaro has quad cats and dual resonators, so straight pipes will probably be too loud on the truck.
At any rate, exhaust is last on the list of things to do.

completely understand about exhaust to be the last on the list..the first thing i would do be a rim and tire combo..those rims may be good and heavy duty but they sure dont accent the truck like other rims could
EDIT: missed your future mods list lol..might wanna add an intake to the list.aftermarket intakes/exhaust really wake up that 6.0 overall thats one of the best optioned base model 3500s ive ever seen..i really do like the manual transfer case vs electric controls
id be interested to see a build sheet on that thing
then again i am partial to a regular cab long bed

The truck looks great and is a very nice replacement!!! With the list of mods you have planned, that will be one of the nicest farm trucks around. I haven't heard of any issues with the 6.0 motor and have many friends and buddies who have them.
Straight pipes would be way too loud on that truck Trent. The camaro has enough restriction, you just deleted the biggest mufflers, there are still 4 cats and resonators reducing noise.
Personally, I would get the bedliner sprayed over the rails and skip the aluminum rails. I've never been a fan of them. The bedliner is more than enough protection for them.

Personally, I would run a 40 series as far as exhaust. I've always had 40's on my V8's, and they are still quite loud, but not obnoxious.

I have always loved the (no name brand) glasspacks on my truck, I absolutely detest most flowmasters on 350s like mine, on ls-based motors I have always liked magnaflows, mellow rumble at idle but monstrous at wot

Honestly, I'd leave the exhaust Trent. There isn't a serious restriction that I'm aware of, and it's a farm truck, you don't need it to be loud. The stock exhaust *should* be Stainless, so it's not gonna rot out. Leave it for now. I have heard very few exhausts on these trucks I've liked, most are way too loud...

I believe that the picture you have is of two 40 series.
I changed oil at a Chevy dealer for a long time and a 6.0 liter 2500HD used to come in all the time that had that exhaust setup, and I must say I've never heard anything sound better. It was so perfect. If it were me, that's what I would do.

Pretty much the same interior as my truck. I would like to suggest an accessory for more storage inside. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Go-Gear-Full- ... r/16782557 I have one of these and it fits perfectly on the center seat and holds everything from pens to my gloves.
