Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
Ryan at Sinister most certainly can make the 92 prom run the 94-95 m62. Thats actually exactly what he did for my buick. only had to send it back once. when tuning from 200 miles away using data sent in e-mail, thats pretty darn good.
Do you have a scanner that will be able to collect live data from the sensors?

He may not need a scanner. He can use your BIN file for a starting point. Does Ryan save them?

I knew THAT....what I'm getting at is someone did this before you, and his first burn needed to be re-done. Using his second bin file might be possible.

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
so getting ready to sell my dd my jeep. I am thinking about taking some of the money and getting the 91 up and going
...other option is to pick up another car for a dd and having to wait longer to get the bonnie going
... either way itll run at wcbf 12... Also spokane has a great raceway again so itll run there before then hopefully

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
So i'm hoping to send the chip out today, i need to confirm if its a 92 or 94 tans . The engine is from a 92 for sure, the supercharger is a 94 so the trans may be either from what im finding out. Does it make a difference in the tune on which one it is? Or do i just have the 94/95 shift points burned in since the supercharger is a 94?

Tunewise, it won't matter, so long as the FDR and the shift points are there.

The tune needs to command the shifts at the higher 94/95 level in order to take advantage of the different powerband regardless of transmission. Tell Ryan you want 94/95 shift points.

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
Alright got most of the info i need, i am going to flush the cooling system and change the thermostat since its been sitting so long, what temp thermo should i use? Also the exhaust is stock to the 91 (2") and sinister needs to know the size of exhaust, should i just leave it stock for now and for the tune or should i factor a change into the tune?...also the injector numbers are as follows 17102768...are these stock ? i think these are the last things i need to know so i can send my chip out...

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
Go with the 180* and have the fan temps set accordingly. The PCM won't care what exhaust size you are running.

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
Your 2" exhaust won't cut it with that motor. You'll be wanting 2.5" before you're done. Tune for that, or you'll have bad KR.
You got the wrong number off the injectors. Give us the other number. They should be 29lb.

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
The o")6 other numbers I saw were 1293:::I will look gain in a bit. Also the trans pinout posted earlier in this topic doesn't match the colors I have on mine which leads me to believe the trans may be a 94 how can I verify this?

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
There might be problems here.....which PCM are you using?
The 92/93 use a thermal switch for overtemp cutoff. The 94/95 use a thermistor (in the valve body) which reports an actual temperature back to the PCM. If it's a 94/95 trans, you'll need a 94/95 PCM to run it.
You're going to have to take a closer look at those injectors. Your numbers aren't right. I might be able to give you some pointers later (I have a spare set at home).

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
Pretty sure the pcm is a 92, how do I identify the transmissiontransmission?..also the only numbers on the injectors are
1293. 17102768 I know the heads were sent off for a 3 angle grind and am thinking he may have used bigger injectors. I will try to contact him to see if he remembers what they are from..

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
A 3-angle job would by no means require bigger injectors. If he got bigger ones, don't use them. You want stock 29lb injectors. We'll want jr's3800 to chime in on the trans. You need to look at the trans for a code on a tag or any other identifiers. Also give us the wire colors if the harness for the trans is there (and it's original).

Re: supercharged 91 , pcm tuning list
I don't know for sure that he used bigger injectors and im also not sure if its the original to trans wiring harness..ill see what I can find out about the injectors. And also get under the car and try to find any numbers on the trans...ill update with the colors of the harness that is for the trans this afternoon. I have my little ones till about noon or so.
here's a couple pics of the injectors: update , the injectors came from the same car the 94/95 supercharger was on but he can't confirm they were stock.
