Winter car / gas mizer, '96 Saturn SC2

Post by crash93ssei »

Picked it up today, $1,600. Runs and drives great, needs a few minor things but overall extremely happy with it. I drove it home 125 miles and it had zero problems at all. The paint has some issues with it, needs a detail HORRIBLY bad, but good thing I know someone that can do it for me

Just over 126,000 miles
only one small spot of rust that I could find on the entire car
1.9 DOHC four cylinder
5 speed manual trans
tires are pretty much new

I will post more pics of it when I get it cleaned up, it is pretty nasty right now on the outside. Interior is fairly clean though and only needs a little work.

x2....That should be a pretty solid winter vehicle! Almost identical in price/mileage, etc. to the green one you were looking at - what happened to that one? Does this one have a few more options? I see it has the sunroof, alloys, and spoiler. Miles are pretty low for the year too.

Too bad I got rid of my stash of spare Saturn parts! What kinda work does it need? One place that was helpful to me (at least a few years ago - haven't checked back since) when I had mine was saturnfans.com, btw.

How do them pop-up headlights work? I've always been worried about them in the snow/ice...

Going to be adding a remote start to it?

The green one was sold on Friday, so I did some more searching and called on this one. I originally ignored it because they wanted $2,000 for it and I didn't think they would come down to my price range, but I ended up calling on it and worked out a deal for $1,600. The only options this one has that the other one didn't is the sunroof. Still no power windows or locks, but I can live with it. As far as work goes, it has some clunking in the rear end over really rough roads, I am thinking maybe strut mounts, and it really needs to be detailed bad as well as the spoiler repainted. I may bring it to my dads house next weekend and fire up the furnace in his pole barn and give it a little polish job :beerchug: That is pretty funny too about saturnfans - I joined up on there earlier in the week to get some information, it does seem like a good place!

I never had a problem with the headlights on my old '91 that I had, so I think these will be fine as well, as for a remote start - I would love to, but not likely gonna happen this year.
