This is the place to plan and find out about any meets in your area. Meets of Any size can be discussed here. PLAN your Meet here, then start a new topic for attendees after the details are worked out.
I really need everyone who is on the attendance list and preparing to go to the Meet to chime in here.
I'm not getting a good feeling about what should be excitement with only a Week to go before some of us leave for Oregon!

You really won't hurt my feelings if we decide to cancel this Meet.
It will be far worse if I drive two cars 800 kms and no one shows up!
The only investment I have in this Meet so far is the Flags and they can be recycled for another Year.......as long as no one minds them being dated WCBF10.

We're in as far as I know... I'm the only Idaho crew going although I'm trying to convince Keven.
1999 Buick Regal GS
1992 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 (the Backup)
2001 Chevy Venture (aka Rosie) Wife's Ride
1994 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi "Black Betty" NOW PACKIN' 2.5" OF FUN! (retired to the junkyard up above)
Honestly, if WCBF '10 is cancelled, that would mean the whole club is going down.... I wish I could make it, but I need to pay off some debts this summer, so it probably won't happen. I'd love to make it, though...

For real guys? One meet is on the verge of cancellation and that means the whole club is going down? Pontiac Bonneville Club is alive and well, sure, WCBF is the oldest / biggest meet in our club, but there are many other large gatherings that are successful as well. Remember that the economy is still in the dumps and isn't getting better yet.
One meet, if cancelled, no matter how big or small, means nothing as to the overall well-being of Pontiac Bonneville Club. It just means that people aren't able to make the meet.

Point taken, but that had nothing to do with the club or anything other than the fact that there was no way I could get a week off during that time. Believe me, I would have loved to go

After the events that happened over the past year, I don't think he would go anywhere near Corvallis...
Sorry to be a downer, guys... The club's not going downhill, I think it all has to do with Wren not being in the middle of things. Honestly, I think that was a big reason everyone wanted to go to WCBF (not that the rest of you aren't just as crazy, lol). If anything, maybe next year we should restructure things and possibly combine NEBF (defunct after boosty left) and WCBF to gain more attendance. Maybe meeting up in MN might be a good idea, idk... The point is, that we need to realize that the club has reached a turning point, and we need to decide where to go from here. Just because we lost one member doesn't mean that the club is dead.

Which is exactly what is happening here I would love to make it to a WCBF, but with my hours at work, Stephanies hours, and having the two little boys, it is hard to go across the country for a week at a time.

I've been out of touch since my vacation thanks to one of my family members. The family is locked in a battle right now, trying to get her removed from the home, or get 3 of her kids out. It's a long story, and it's been taking quite literally ALL my time. Very hard to deal with out of State, and there are several reasons why I have to be the one in the lead role on this one. In a nutshell, we recently uncovered evidence of physical and mental abuse, and found there's a long history of it, including with the 3 children that no longer live at home.
I was the first person my Nieces and Nephews turned to, and it's getting really ugly now, with CPS and the Yolo County, CA DA's office involved. I've narrowly escaped 2 other trips to CA in the last week alone, and may still have to go on short notice. On top of all this, Lisa and I have been struggling to resolve some issues with her kids, fallout from the divorce. Things are NOT going well for them at their Father's house, and the blame is mutual. It's been very difficult breaking through to the point where their Dad will even listen, but we've made progress in the last 4 or 5 days. My Dad's health is spiraling downward due to the emotional stress of the family problems in CA as well.
I'm not ready for WCBF as it stands today, but I will be by the time the meet starts, assuming we have any kind of turnout at all. I did a final count right before my vacation, and was expecting no more (and probably fewer) than 6 cars this year.
None of my cars will race this year. Zilla broke the 6th front trans mount (the latest version) on Friday. The safety chain I welded on last time did do it's job though.
I see fewer than 6 cars this year, but that was expected due to the economy. Frankly, a smaller meet this year would be a big break for me.

I just wanted to mention that NEBF is alive and well. Boosty just hosted the NEBF back in May with a good turnout.
Just because fewer people, and keep in mind that yes the cars brought us as together as a club, but it is the PEOPLE who keep it going, are attending meets it does not mean that the club is going down, nor does it mean that there are not people getting together. Goodness, it is not all doom and gloom here folks. It is a tough year, get over it, get over yourselves. People have lives!!! I know it was not posted here, but we had a mini meet of our own, Matt came over for an impromptu visit, and it was great. Not one car was taken apart, and we still had a great time.
The years we went down to Oregon just for a quick visits were some of the best times we had. Why does the meet have to be in the same place every year?? Why do you have to the same thing every year?? Why does it matter how many "cars" show up and what kind of cars they are. It is about the people, who cares what they are driving. The Canadians have been down to the State a lot, when are our friends from the States going to come up to Canada, and see what we have to offer?? I know one reason why O'Neil is not going down, and I share his feelings on this, it is our vacation time, and he does not want to spend his vacation time taking apart and putting back together other people's cars.
If you all want to have a "mod" meet, then have one, but WCBF was not created to work on the cars, it was created to share in our love of our cars, life, and family. The club is like a family, sometimes they are all very close, and other times their lives interfere with their connections, it does not mean that they love or care for each other any less.
So maybe you not meet in Oregon, perhaps you meet in Washington, and make a weekend of it there, or you meet in Oregon, and just be tourists in Oregon, go and visit the many attractions there. If you are going to make the trip, make it a good one. When we went to the first WCBF we went everywhere as a family, we saw the entire state and that is what it was about. Enjoying each other.
I think I have made my point...Move on, have fun, and don't sweat the small stuff.
As a final note, it's quite apparent WCBF is alive and well. Attendance was far better than expected, as past attendees got the last minute itch, and things got crowded quickly. This was remarkable in light of the very poor economy.
Next year should be an improvement, as well.
All told we had 8 3800's, 2 F-bodys, a Suburban, and a Maxima in attendance. One more Bonneville met us at the track. A 12-car meet is back down to 2006 meet levels, but still pretty impressive. 18 people attended the whole meet and all events at the meet. This is the first year EVERY member participated in the coast run, including me (past years have been impossible with the amount of cars being worked on).
