project: 03 Denali

Post your pics of your non-Bonneville, and If you have video footage, we want to see it. Videos must be hosted on external web space and hotlinked to PontiacBonnevilleClub.com. Also discuss mechanical problems regarding your non-bonneville (this is not another lounge, but posts don't count, random car vids not of your cars should be in the lounge)

No I didn't scoop this up for super cheap... but it is my first actual "customer car". This is Shannon's aunts daily driver. Its an 03 Denali. Last week she was grocery shopping, and a half gallon of chocolate milk slipped out of the bag and under the seat. She didn't notice. The truck sat for 3 days in the heat... the jug exploded... smelly chocolate milk all over the back seat carpet. They did there best to clean it up... but without removing the seats you'll never get it all out. When we went to see them this Memorial weekend, we discusses trading vehicles so I could clean theres up. I'm doing it from the goodness of my heart, and just to show her family what I do (they all think I'm a gold digger since I don't have a job)... so I probably won't make any money.

The truck is in great shape, and is kept really clean… so the before and after pics won’t do it much justice, but the smell is the main issue.

Anywho... here it is
Image

After the seats were out... you can see the carpet cleaner they sprinkled on. The smell is just atrocious. :sad5:

Carpet out...

Here is the carpet padding… moldy!
Image

I cut out the bad sections (new GM padding was $110 & 150 per section)
Image

And then put in some other carpet padding
Image
Image
Image

Then I started cleaning the carpet
Image
Image

And I’ll let it dry overnight.

That's a nice thing to do for your future aunt-in-law, lol. Prove to them you don't just sit on your a$$ all day, lol. Might also earn you some more $$ from other vehicles.

I'm sure that's what they all think. Not what's true, but perception is rarely reality.

Nice work man, and nice 'Nali. My dad has an 03 just like it but in the Carbon color, bought it brand new, and it has less than 60K on it. Love these trucks, but the steering wheel and brake/accelerator pedals feel like they aren't connected to anything.

My wife spilled milk on a car carpet a while ago. I know what it smells like. Really bad, like someone died in there. Provides the motivation to "dig for gold" LOL

Looks really good! The pictures make the interior look like the sandstone (beige) interior at first, but then I realized this has the grey interior.
