i can't burn out or even squeal the tires, maybe the granny 2.86 gearing is the culprit?

So you just turn off the TC and hit the E-brake, and punch it? Is that the best way to do it?

using the e-brake is only going to help you if you are on wet pavement. If you want to make long streaks, just turn off the TC and punch it.

Hmmm, the granny gearing may be the culprit, I have the 3.06's and have NO trouble. Now that I'm thinking about it though, my sister's '98 SLE is the same way. Her car is slooooow compared to mine. You can barely tell when I kick it down. Compared to that, my car seems like a beast. She has the granny gears so that must be the culprit. I thought my buddy with the Monte had the granny gears too though and his car runs like mine. :dontknow:

Fully tuned up... it's just sticky tires. Old tires like to spin... these just don't do it.

Sorry, i had to. You guys refer to granny gearing as higher (numerically lower), but out here on the farm, we call granny gearing lower gears (numerically higher), like all the old granny geared farm trucks top out at 60 mph, because of the "low" gearing. Sorry, ignore if confused.
