MODS PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS - SSEI95 AND I ARE WORKING ON A PROJECT TOGETHER
------
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TELL OTHER MEMBERS ABOUT THIS, WE NEED VOTES.

DONT JUST READ THIS AND GO, PLEASE VOTE ANYWAYS.

Okay here's what I'm asking. I am a developer, and I like this site a lot. All you guys have helped me out with a lot. I decided to post this in this section because it seems to be the most popular on the site and i'd get the most response.

I have talked with Gordy, and I am offering to create a mobilized version of Pontiac Bonneville Club for all of our members (and non-members) to enjoy on their iPhones, Blackberrys, and even other types of cell phones depending on the frameworks I play with. This is also a great way to get more members to come here. I also am a expert SEO dev that can raise our site pretty high on Google and other search engines.

Receive messages and use the website in a nice friendly interface thats easy to navigate using your phone. Upload videos, pictures and more - straight from your phone, whenever you want. Add them to your gallery with ease.

If it becomes popular enough, and I see usage and get some response, I will discuss with gordy the possibility of even me creating a fully fledged application to be posted to the AppStore of all the major carriers.

I have posted up a poll to get some feedback on my ideas for the site, and would like to hear some suggestions and ideas for me to implement.

NOTE: I've made the poll accept MULTIPLE ANSWERS. So please choose the features you'd most likely want in my application.

Thanks guys,

Josh

Smartphones are too expensive, therefore it would be of no use to me. However, I'm sure people would find use for it if you'd be willing to build it.

I will be getting a Moto Droid soon and this is one of the things that I was excited about with it was being able to check this site out while bored at work or on the road :beerchug:

I could only pick three options, but I also think that direct uploading to my gallery would be sweet!
I also like the option to call other members through the app, that would be great! I have so many members numbers it isn't even funny :ack: it would be great to just see them online and call them right there.

I gotta say no. I think my phone is capable of internet browsing but I'm far too cheap to pay for a plan that would allow it.

Not mechanical related. Moving to Suggestions.

That said, I would absolutely use a mobile version. My Nokia E71 is capable of Wi-fi browsing so I don't need to fork over for a data plan. Great for lazy mornings in bed when my phone is beside me

I wouldn't use it unless I had to on the road or something. 99.9% of my posting is in my computer chair.

check out a free browser called "Bolt". It shows the actual web page on your blackberry, not the mobile pages.

You can view standard webpages on a BB through the normal browswer as well. The problem is most (including this forum) aren't always that user friendly when viewing on a ~4" screen. I will say this, using Safari on my iPhone is A LOT better than the BB Storm's browser was. I'm not waiting for pages to load like I was, and can zoom in/out easily. I don't need to see everyone's avatar and full signature when I'm looking for a post or trying to do a quick reply on a phone.

Actually, I already do access the site from my phone when I'm not at home (just now got the internet at home after a few years without anyway). And I don't have a smartphone thingy, and data is free with our plan.
