Supercharger bearings
Supercharger bearings
I have a M90 and one of the rear (opposite the snout) bearings on the sc is bad. Whats the best way to get those little buggers out. I have a new one and the grease and can set it to the right tolerance using a depth gauge on the existing one.

Are you talking the needle bearings?
It's not a simple task, but not the hardest either.
If it's not the needle bearings (located in the housing itself at the other end of the rotors (close to TB) as the nosedrive/snout) please correct me and I will give the process you will need.

Yep..it's the bearings in the housing by the tb inlet. I'm thinking that tapping the hole and threading a fitting in, adding water and then air pressure might move them, or something thicker than water. Any help would be great.

You have the right idea. You tap them for a grease zerk, then pump grease in with grease gun. the gun will force it out. They can fly out with force.

I've moved some big azz things with water and air pressure, but the grease idea looks good. I'll give it a try this week and let you know how it went. With my luck I'll blow a hole in the wall and then have to pack my bags and move on again. When I did it, the bearing stuck to the grease and just kinda plopped out. No towel needed if you've got the touch.

Yup, that's the link I was going to add .... when I located it.
Also, what is it they say -freeze the case in a freezer so the holes open up so the new (heated) bearings slide right in with little resistance and the case will sieze onto them as it warms up and bearings cool down.

Umm, marty, that's backwards. Freeze the bushings maybe? Freezing = Contraction, except with water.

We were taught to make very close tolerance pop rivets by freezing the rivets and then under sizing the drill holes. After you put the rivet in, it warms up and you have less chance of the rivet slipping in the hole later and tearing metal. Of course we used nitrogen to freeze the rivets....also did some weird things with dipping hot dogs, tennis balls and marshmallows in the stuff.

Brain farts are okay...it's the diarrhea of the mouth that isn't. Thanks for being willing to help me. I will let everyone know if its a plop out of the bearing or not.
