Good way to make the G8s a distant memory...lets take a limited production car...and rust it out.

164k on my 00.
No matter how rare, it's still a car, meant to be driven. Would I drive a one of one Hemi Cuda in the salt? No, but his G8 is one of many.
Bye Bye: RIP sandrock

Holy crap guys, chillllllll! As long as you take care of the underside every so often in the winter it wont rust. Trust me. Its a street car, not a trailer queen. (No rust on my 155000 mi 01, in IL whole life) Drive it Kyle!

werd. The places with the thin oil and where the drill into your doors and rocker panels, now that's the stuff. The holes are a small sacrifice to pay, but I swear by that stuff. Up here you can practically tell which 10-15 year old cars have been rustproofed and maintained and which ones haven't.

a Ferrari FXX is a limited production car. A Gallardo Balboni is a limited production car. A G8 is not. And he is in Illinois, and modern cars generally do fine in winter without rusting..

The reason i'm storing mine for the winter is to keep the resale high. Just in case I need a hefty down payment for a house I want to be able to sell it for close to what I paid. But if money is no object by all means enjoy it. Trust me, i've looked out the window a number of times dreaming of doughnuts in the culdusac.
Driven in salt or not, it's still depreciating like a rock, especially since it was made by a brand no longer in existance?

Mine are just sitting in the garage depreciating too. I have three North American vehicles in perfect condition that are worthless to anyone but myself.
....make that four. I'm driving one.

Yup.
1)I bought my car with 12,030 miles to avoid the initial depreciation hit
2) It is very good when it comes to depreciation.
3) It's been taken care of, documented everything, I have a 3 ring binder with every document pertaining to that car in it.
Not helping: 6th Generation released this fall, and I've POURED mileage on the last year
Still hurts like a mother..

kyle (allmachtige) is a close buddy of mine and i can assure you all he takes very high uber care of his cars even when he was driving his moms impala for a while. trust me he knows his cars he knows computers he knows how to properly clean and detail his cars.
so back off a bit people sure a G8 is a beautiful car and his a great one the white has grown on me. but the G8 specially the base and GT models were produced in high numbers. its not like a 1 of 100 total in the world GXP G8 in a uber special color. so cut him some slack he uses the car for the purpose it was built.
on a side not nice choice kyle i hear some awesome reviews on those in my car and drive mag. give me a call sometime and tell me how they are bud.

the "Pontiac" name has nothing to do with it, its MADE by Holden which is still producing the same car through out the world. and BTW the G8 (at least the GT's) are still holding in value, so low milage will help resale.
