Club Meets

Chat about all things Bonneville (and related cars). Off-topic stuff should be in the lounge, and all mechanical problems should be posted in the proper forum.

Club Meets

Post by CThompson31 »

So I'd like to know about the club meets. Where are they usually held? What are they like? Is there a chance that a Bonneville Club meet can be out here in Rogers, AR? I'd like to go to one.
3800 Series power. Doesn't get much better than that!

I'll move this to Gen Chat for you. we like to keep the "your ride" section for, well, Your ride. :)

as for meets, it usually helps if someone takes the reigns and starts one. the first one near me started out with 3 members and eventually turned out to be the largest gathering of the club history, 22 bonnevilles if memory serves me. some meets have been around since the club started and then there are the some who meet more often than others.

most happen in spring and summer times. some in the fall.

one could check out the web for a park that allows cookouts. a lot of good get togethers happen that way or just a simple, Hey lets meet at such and such place for lunch and a photo shoot.

nobodys jumping at me of where you live but we do have members in OK City area.

Keep in mind though that if you do decide to host one, it is very unlikely that it will be very large..... at first. I have been hosting meets in Michigan for three years now and the first few I tried to plan were very small with only two or three members showing up. BUT, they all had a great time and we got more and more people interested to come out. This year, for the big meet that I have been holding now for three years in a row, we had members from as far away as Ohio, Illinois, Toronto, West Virginia, Massachusetts, and Minnesota, totaling close to 18 cars.

Keep an eye out in the Meets section for one to pop up close enough for you, or, you could also post up a gathering that you would like to host and see if any interest pops up for it :)

I joined up in June of 07, hosted a meet in Sept 07, only a weekend, and had 8-ish cars...cant exactly remember....twas a blast though. Hit up the local strip, people got trophys, some people modded the day before/after the strip, lots of questions answered and just an all around good time. :beerchug:

I've hosted 2 meets. One had 1 person show up, and the other had 10-12. Start small, one day meet to work on your car or something.

Any movement toward a Pittsburgh/SW PA/No WV/ Eastern OH meet? Now that the holidays are near I could easily justify a drive to Pgh or some place close.

I'm from Pittsburgh....depending on the timing (work/concert schedules and all) I'd be up for something? At this time of year, I'm thinking it'd be mostly just dinner and hanging out a bit.
