SUPERCHARGER NOSE REBUILD

Post by londonontman »

Does anyone have a part number for a rebuild kit for the M62 Eaton Supercharger off a 1993 SSEi. I fried mine and wrecker one has to much play.

did you fry the brearings, or just the coupler?

if you need a new nose drive, the wrecker one(going by your description) may still be good, just needing a new coupler..

Moving to Forced Induction.

Make sure your bearing didn't spin in the housing (nosedrive) and ruin it.

All the M90 parts at Rolling Performance fit the M62.

Thanks for the info. Actually when I got the supercharger off and removed the nose drive to see the bearing there was no more bearing there. There were only 7 intact ball bearings there and 4 partials. Lucked out that one of the mechanics I work with had a S/C off a 96 SSEi. The opening for the throttle body on the 96 S/C was smaller than mine which surprised me but the nose is exact. Going to order the rebuild kit and correct the problem. I checked the nylon bushing before reinstalling and there's no play.

The nose off a 96 SSEi is completely different from yours. He must have told you the wrong year.

Toss the part. It isn't even close to compatible. It will not bolt up, not a single hole will align. The pins are different sizes, and the length (belt offset) is totally wrong.

Or take a pic of it, since your source doesn't seem to know what he's talking about, so we can identify it.

I want more details on the bearing failure. Where were the inner and outer RACES for the bearing? Did either break loose?
