I replaced my windshield washer motor and have determined that the switch inside the stalk is bad (works if you push the end really hard so could be a contact issue). Only thing I have read online is to remove the steering wheel (and air bag) to get at the steering column. Any way to replace the stalk without that?

Not necessary I replaced mine about a month back a bit of a pain but basically plug and play. You don't need to remove the entire steering wheel just the column cover that covers the back part and where the stalks come out of. There are a couple screws under the bottom side of the column and one a bit tricky to get out as the one is at the end of a very narrow long channel. I believe it was an inverted torx screw. Once your in there a couple more screws clips and retainers should be pretty self explanatory once you start to tear into it, totally doable though. You can buy a new stalk shop around online to find the cheapest price rock auto has them or pull one from the bone yard as I did.
