no load hesitation misfire jerking
2003 SLE with 206,000miles. When driving down the road about 60mph (16-1700rpm) I feel a jerking sensation in the car like it is missing. All other times the thing runs great. If I pull it into 3rd gear which is about 2100 rpm it does the same thing. Accelerate and it is just fine. The car is fairly ...

purge solenoid line issue-Update
Glad I looked into this more. It is actually the fuel return line. Not sure what to do. My thought is to cut the plastic line and cut the steel line and use a 5/16 fuel line hose and clamps. Not sure about the fuel line hose over the plastic line though. I may first try to separate the metal fuel ...

purge solenoid line issue
I have noticed a gas smell coming from left rear tire area under my 2003 Bonneville SLE. Jacked it up and crawled under. There is a metal line coming from the EVAP purge solenoid on top of the engine and goes somewhere to the back of the car. Where the metal line turns to rubber/plastic the metal ...

Rear brake line woes
My car is spewing out brake fluid in the center rear. I have not put it in the air yet but I believe it is the rear one that crosses over. Anyone know a source for this besides buying all lines from https://www.inlinetube.com/products/pbb2001

Re: Struts
I have been running Monroe 171685 quick struts on two Bonneville SLE's for over 5 years. Ride height change is not noticeable and car rides like a dream even at 80 mph. $97 on Amazon with free shipping.

Tranny advice
2003 3.8 SLE w 192,000
Tranny started slipping a little at take off with 175,000 miles on it. Changed tranny fluid and put in the shift kit. All good until about 188,000 miles. So changed tranny fluid and put in a stronger magnet in the pan. All good until now at 192,000 miles. starting to act up ...

Rear brakes
2003 Bonneville SLE - It is my observation that rear calipers are hard to find versus front ones. Is this because rear calipers rarely need to be replaced.?

Have you tried unplugging the mass air flow sensor? Start it up and see what happens.

Re: Left front tranny/motor mount mystery part
Sorry about the work around but if you follow link above and look at the top left photo it is of an engine mount and you can see the metal band around it and the rusty metal weight.

Left front tranny/motor mount mystery part
Working on the left front of the car and noticed this weight type piece hanging loose from the left front tranny mount/motor mount. It is actually in the left front wheel well. Anyone know what this is and the importance? Not sure how to post a picture. It has a large clamp that goes around the ...

Rear brakes
The rear brakes on both of my Bonneville's appear to not be working. Th rotors have developed rust on them. Calipers and pads are not that old. Is there a reason these are not auto adjusting? The parking brakes are not hooked up on either one.

Re: Crank position sensor
Thank for the info. Pulley is off so now just need to put back together. Used 14-20 bolts and still worked but it felt like I was wrecking threads. Should never use again. Hope this fixes the no start condition.

Crank position sensor
So I am going to replace my CPS due to a no spark condition and have a couple questions? Does the balancer have threaded holes in it. I have pullers but do not see the threaded holes. I am also confused by the torque spec of 111 plus 75. Can someone explain this? 111 ft-lbs plus 75 degrees?

While trying to remove the top 3 bolts on the upper strut mounts the inserts are spinning. There is not way to get a hold of them. Has anyone had this problem and what you did to get these out?

Struts-2003 SLE
Just checking if anything has changed regarding from struts? I replaced mine around 80,000 miles ago with the Monroe 71685 OESpectrum Premium Strut and they are shot. . I reused the coil spring due to not wanting to change the ride height. Couple years earlier I replaced struts on another 2003 SLE ...

Re: 2003 spark plug, middle back = PITA
First thing I like to do is to remove the bracket in the back used for pulling the engine and holding the cover. That is a little pain to get off but makes things easier down the road. Just leave it off. Unlikely you will need it. Yes it does help hold plastic engine cover in place but cover sits ...

Re: Installing rear shocks on 04 Bonneville
I just did this two weeks ago. Tried every method possible to remove the air line and gave up. What I recommend is to buy the Monroe AK29 air line kit. Its only about $15 and O-Reilly has it. Also buy 2 compression fittings for this line size. You will cut off about 8" on the car and also using the ...

They lower intake manifold gaskets should have been replaced when the upper plenum was replaced. Your that close it should be done.
