Re: HVAC Auto Climate Moodiness

I still haven't been able to resolve this issue -- still having the same symptoms - plus a coupe of others I noticed

1) When restarting the car the blower motor does not start until you press the 'FAN' button, the 'mode' button (thought this was limited to the winter time, but no)
2) Pressing the ...

Re: HVAC Auto Climate Moodiness

Replaced the HVAC Control Module -- It responded with the same symptoms as the original so put it back.. What other module controls climate (or passes through via Class II)

I think I need to start looking there.. Replaced with a brand new battery yesterday (original was getting weak) -- no other ...

Re: HVAC Auto Climate Moodiness

All 04-05 have black buttons, SE/SLE/GXP.

Must have been an incorrect listing.. I verified with GMPartsDirect as well for the P/N -- there is no other SPID for an 00 model than this one.. I was OCD about any scratched/worn buttons.. But more importantly, I need some HEAT on the floor and DEFROST ...

Re: HVAC Auto Climate Moodiness

You are aware that the 04+ use black buttons, compared to the gray buttons you have now, correct?

May have been a mis-listing by the seller.. I confirmed GM P/N 09391122 with the one listed in the auction (And confirmed it has GRAY buttons) -- I was thinking that 2005 GXP/SLE were specifically ...

Re: Tire Reccomendation

I am glad someone is happy with their Michelin Pilot HX MXM4's. I think they are a piece of s41+!! My wife bought an new '09 CTS August '08 and both front tires were defective on delivery. I took it to the Michelin dealer (Discount Tire). They had to pull 3 tires to get 2 good ones. The car has 17k ...

Tire Reccomendation

I've had GXP wheels on my car since late '04 (takeoffs with Goodyear RSA's) -- when I bought the car from mom with 71k on it..) And I found a deal on some RSA EMT's in 235 50 18 and stored them at my office/warehouse for a while.. finally mounted them last fall.. All I can say is AMEN I kept the ...

Re: HVAC Auto Climate Moodiness

Using Tech2 to 'Command' the module to move the 'Defrost/Heat/Vent Actuator' sat at a big fat '0' -- while the actual changed from a nonresponsive value of '255' -- Other functions (Driver/Passenger Mixer Doors, Outside/Recirculation) all worked -- HVAC module is flakey -- Found one on eBay for $50 ...

Archon's instructions are also excellent for replacing the shaft with the 'Double-D' Design - I replaced mine several years back.. and haven't looked back!

HVAC Auto Climate Moodiness

Guys.. looking for some suggestions -- I'll have access to a Tech2 tomorrow -- but here is the current scenario:

1) HVAC on AUTO And Starting Car Cold – Blower Will Not Engage after Car Reaches Min Operating Temp (I’m sure it goes by Closed Loop) To Engage Heat.
2)Temp to 90 Both Driver/Passenger ...

Re: Added another one to the fleet --

I've only gotten to drive the regular Escalade. EXT is god to me. I envy you. Versatile, and luxurious. What kinda power with some mods you think you can get out of that beast?

All EXT's have the L92 6.2L VVT -- Its a torque monster -- I put the GMPP Intake, and Exhaust on it -- I will probably ...

Re: ssei running crazy rich? & chugging

Check O2 sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 for slow rich/lean switching.. I had one of the newer AFS109 designs (presumably denso) and it went to the crapper --- I had one of older (rounded tip) AFS109's with with rounded tip and it cleared it right up.. MPG's went back up, and not fumes..

Re: 2000 SLE A/C only passenger side cools

I just went through this a few weeks back; I couldn't find my dads gauge set at my moms so I ended up using an entire can with one of the 'color coded' gauges -- At first I didn't add enough either; but considering the car was 10 years old this past March, I figured that it was very well due for a ...

Last summer about this time I ran across a 2008 Escalade EXT, new sitting on a dealers lot -- drove it home for $44,9 (cash incentives, GM Card earnings, went invoice and all but $300 holdback $$$, Pontiac Owner Loyalty Certificate) -- I can still sell it now for more than I paid for it :) -- Just ...

Plugs has probably 10k on them.. the wires maybe 30k --

But yep it was a bad O2; which also was about brand new. It was the one in the 'box' which I think is the new P/N manufactured by Denso -- it went bad over a course of 2 years and 30k miles; I put the ORIGINAL o2 sensor back in it that had ...

Poor Mileage / Bad o2?

Gents,

Over the course of several months my SSEi's mileage has deteriorated -- now I'm at 21mph AVG babying on the highway where I use to be 26-31mpg on trips.

I scanned today and my O2B1S1 readings are ranging .7-.850 for EXTENDED periods (as in 5 seconds at times). This is a newer AC Delco 109 ...
