HC high is nothing more than unburnt fuel exiting the exhaust. - plugs, wires, coils
then check for vacuum leaks, make sure the pcv valve has an o-ring in it.

check: Throttle POSition sensor and Idle air controller also vacuum leaks. Clean : Throttle body.

If you never replaced the rotors after the calipers siezed up on you, they will need to be turned to get rid of the warp from overheating. I'd rather replace then turn them, but as long as they are quality parts you should have lots of meat on them.

Just the regular AC delco coils are good enough. I remember you can use coils from a Gen2 and they deliver a tiny bit more zap, but you won't notice it.

Ever try to "California" the hood? You just put washers between the hood hinges and the hood, raising the back of the hood up a small amount, which allows hot air out of the engine bay.
