Re: SEBF 2012

Offering up a location, my house in Punta Gorda, FL - 33983 - any interest?

I have talked briefly with Don about this, but this is of course dependent upon whether anyone would A, like to have a meet, and B, be aware that it is a little farther south than Don's place.

This is not to say that there ...

Er, well, it doesn't "come off".....I had the driver's seat altered by a custom auto upholstery/trim shop. They did a decent job with it.

Re: So, how was your day?

I was in the passenger seat. I can verify that the airbag took out the windshield. Both of us were belted and felt the airbags as opposed to the impact itself. I didn't even feel the impact even though it was on the right side of the car. The airbags caused some kind of rash/burn for us to go along ...

Re: A Bonneville conundrum

I'd go with a Panther platform as well. They're proven to be rock-solid, though the fuel mileage on them isn't stellar. Many Panthers were doomed thanks to the CFC program. Stick with locating A Crown Vic LX Sport or a Marauder. The Grand Marqs also have an LX Sport equivalent trim, though I don't ...

Re: Door Panel Removal AND Window Alignment

Might try to throw in some extra sound deadening while I've got the panel off...it seems like the panels lack a serious amount of it.

Hypocrisy. Still, you'll end up with a worse fitting panel if you do that. Are you sure this car hasn't been wrecked? I still think you should take the visors off ...

Re: It's no thoroughbred... (Woot! Pg. 5)

That's the only thing that's got me a little apprehensive about it...I'm just so sick and tired of dealing with that dang spring compressing, the stupid piston always turning, etc. I know *dang* well they put FE1 springs on there though, since its the same one for the LeSabre, Park Avenue ...

Re: My Buick replacement

Thank you all for the kind words.

I doubt that too many people will mistake the Marquis for a cop though.... a Crown Vic, sure.

Either way, I've already found that the car feels much more solid than the H body. I wonder if that is due to the body on frame construction, or the weight, coming in at ...

Re: Jiffy Water Pump replacement....

Yes, except it was not bleeding out, more like running out. There was a large amount of play in the pulley as well. No damage to the belt. Everything on the accessory drive has been replaced between 2006 and now except the compressor.

The last WP failure I caught by hearing its strange noises ...

Re: Jiffy Water Pump replacement....

Wellsir, I'm waiting on the UPS man to bring me my new Delco water pump, today I scraped the gasket material off. I had to use a hammer to get the old pump off. It was seriously baked on, which is the car's second WP. I installed it (NAPA brand) in July 2006. I also know that any other brand of car ...

Re: Jiffy Water Pump replacement....

I remember reading this the day before I drove out of Florida. Lost the water pump 118 miles from home. 300+ tow bill, and it sits in the driveway dead since it was dropped off. I'm finished. I'm buying a Ford.

I did not get that amazon radiator on the cheap. I'm going to buy a 91-95 radiator with both oil coolers and buy all new lines and fittings to upgrade the transmission cooler to the larger lines.
