Re: tachometer not working correctly, CPS and knock sensor h

I would also check the wiring before swapping the ICM. I have seen a loose ICM connector (7mm not being snug) cause these types of issues as well. And it could very well be the ICM.

Re: tachometer not working correctly, CPS and knock sensor h

When you expect a crank learn to be done, you should make sure you specify it. Most mechanics will put on a new crank sensor and as long as it starts and runs, there's very little need for a learn. Although it does optimize things.

Also.. technically if you are looking through manuals etc, CPS is ...

Tmk the smallest pulley that was mass produced was a 2.55, I have a 2.50 in my possession. I don't think a 2.4 would fit with the ZZP snout turn down tool that I have.

Guys.. the oil pickup for the aluminum pan is different than a steel pan. Couldn't tell from the pic, but it kinda looked like the steel pickup. Please tell me it isn't the steel pan one.

It's still looking pretty

Go pretty snug toward tight and stop where you can put the cotter pin through. All set.

Re: Alternator belt?

I have only recently heard of the d1 and d2 for the belts.

Are you coming up with something like 15mm difference in the two belt lengths? If so.. either should fit. Please fill us in more with any info you have found.

Like you, I'd enjoy a data stream to see what the pcm thinks is going on.

Being a 94.. I wonder about the pcm. 94 and 95 were by far the flakiest years of pcms. But..it could be a lot of things. tough to tell w/o having any real info from the car.

Your best bet is to sell the drivetrain locally. While it's an L36 and anyone here knows you can swap in a L26... the rest of the general public won't know that.

Anyone looking for an L36 may be willing to jump on it.

Where are you located. I'm in ... well there's an L67 in Enfield CT. Came from a bonne with low miles from what I was told. It's nearly 100% complete. I got it for a song (and I am horrible at singing).

I could be talked out of it pretty easily.

Re: Transmisson question

I'd be looking at the diff to see if that's the cause of the issue. It's common enough.

Being that you have an 03, it's the purple spotted unicorn of transmissions. Meaning it's a one year only thing. And having an H body you need the extra webbing in the back for your motor mount. One that looks ...

It should pop out one of the sides with the wheel off. If you need to lower the rear of the subframe, it's only an inch or two. IIRC though you can wiggle and slide it right out.

Have you considered relearning the throttle position? Might be off a smidge and closing more than it should. Since you are DBW it's also your low speed idle, you don't have an iac.

Re: Can I tighten tranny flywheel bolts w/o taking out the t

It would be super painful to do with the trans in. I think the converter will slide back..maybe just far enough. Problem then is ..there really isn't much room between the bolts.
