My oil pressure guage maxed out today at 120psi. The oil is full and fresh. I assume I need an oil pressue sensor/sending unit. Anyone know the GM part number for my 2000 SSEi? It should be around $40... right?
Thanks,
Martin

Valve Cover Leak... Recall?
Well, after my 2000 SSEi being 100% dry for the past 10 years, it appears either my valve cover gasket or cylinder head gasket is leaking oil (I haven't had a chance to examine it closely yet). Someone told me this is pretty common with these vehicles and Pontiac has a recall to fix this potential ...

Re: Fuel Pump, Coils or Crank Sensor???
Hello... Yes, it's been about 4 weeks now and the car has been running better than ever since the sensor was replaced.

Mold Growing in Car!!!
I'm a forum member with a Pontiac SSEi, but this is a general question about the interior on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep has been in the garage over the winter and not driven at all. My wife opened the door yesterday and, low and behold, the fabric seats have mold spots all over them and ...

Re: Fuel Pump, Coils or Crank Sensor???
Just got the car back from the dealership. Had history codes P0446: Evap, P0102: MAF, P0300, Misfire. They determined the problem to be with the mass airflow sensor. They replaced the sensor, cleared codes and test drove. The car is running fine.... so far. Cost me $312 after $80 employee discount ...

Re: Fuel Pump, Coils or Crank Sensor???
Well, it just happened again. I started the car at work and the engine was stumbling. Drove home, having to keep putting it in neutral and giving it gas to keep it running. No gas smell, but almost like a burnt smell of some sort. The car died one block from my home. Could not keep running. Waiting ...

Fuel Pump, Coils or Crank Sensor???
Hello,
I have a 2000 SSEi with 150,000 miles on it, but the engine had been replaced and has about 60,000. Last night, I went to start the car and all it would do is crank, sputter, then stall. I couldn't get it to run by giving it more gas. There was a slight smell of gas; maybe from flooding. I ...

2000 SSEi: Service Security System Message
Over the past week or so, I noticed the "Service Security System" message on occasionally while driving the car. No other lights are on at this time and the car is starting/driving normally. I replaced the battery a few months ago with an AC/Delco factory OEM unit. Any ideas what's going on? Thanks ...

Re: Weird Noise...
Did you use stock GM shocks or some other brand?Sounds like mine when I had a bad shock mount. New shocks and mounts and the clunking went away. You can do it yourself in an hour and a half and some basic tools, and it made the car ride way better.

Weird Noise...
Happy New Year!
When driving over a bumpy road, I'm hearing a disturbing clunking noise from the right/rear. I haven't had it up on a lift yet, but thinking possibly a bad shock or swaybar bushing. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Martin

Re: Changing Battery - some new info
Just replaced my original 2000 battery. Bought from GM dealer. Same large size... same vent tube. Works great. I work at the dealership and paid $100. Easy to install.

Re: Bubbling Paint...
Well, that's not good news at all! Are all these cars having this problem? I guess there's nothing GM would do about it. Thanks for the input.

Bubbling Paint...
My 2000 SSEi is in really good shape except for the paint bubbling underneath the gas filler cap. I already had it repainted once before about 2 years ago. What's the deal. Is there someway of painting this so that the natural flexing when filling up doesn't cause the paint to separate?

2000 SSEi Seat Bottoms
Other than the leather seat bottoms in my 2000 SSEi, the car is in great shape. The tan seat bottoms are physically wearing out on the driver's side and starting to crack at the stiching on the passenger side. the seatbacks and rear seats are near mint. Has anyone had these fixed? If so, what's ...

Coolant Rusty...
The coolant in my resevoir is starting to get rusty (not oily). I have a 2000 SSEi and the engine has about 45,000 miles on it. Why is this happening and what do I need to do to get it fresh again?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Steering Wheel Radio Control Lights
Hey everyone,
Can the bulbs in the steering wheel radio control buttons be replaced? One of mine just went out last week in my 2000 SSEi. If so, please reply with the type of bulb and instructions for replacing it.
Thanks!
Martin
