Weird Noise...

Post by mshipon »

Happy New Year!

When driving over a bumpy road, I'm hearing a disturbing clunking noise from the right/rear. I haven't had it up on a lift yet, but thinking possibly a bad shock or swaybar bushing. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Martin

Sounds like mine when I had a bad shock mount. New shocks and mounts and the clunking went away. You can do it yourself in an hour and a half and some basic tools, and it made the car ride way better.

Did you use stock GM shocks or some other brand?

I used Monroe Max-Air shocks and Moog Mounts, and got them from RockAuto. If you use the site discount here, shipping is basically free.

I checked out RockAuto and the site discount doesn't seem to be working anymore...

Works fine for me.

I agree though, I have the same issue on my LeSabre except it's coming from the front. I need new shocks/struts and mounts as well.
