I just sold my 2000 SSEi with 308,000kms...this one has years of love left.
Maybe my wife needs a replacement. She sure did cry when it drove off...
Hmmm...

Re: Addition to my family...
Insurance didn't quite offer me enough to even buy a 100,000 mile replacement with rust. I am not sure what game they are playing now, but I have involved my legal representation...

Re: Addition to my family...
That's brutal. The only thing worse would be if it happened to a person like that...
Try and gather up all your receipts and info on the mods you had. Even though you didn't have it appraised, your insurance should still cover things above & beyond normal replacement parts since they were on there ...

Re: Addition to my family...
Found out a few minutes ago that they in fact backed right up to it on the second floor of the 5 floor garage, hooked a nylon tow rope up to it, and used a suburban to tow it right out to the front gate. They then put a ticket in, gate went up, out goes both the SUV and my prized possession, and bye ...

Re: Addition to my family...
Yea throwing in the towel would sound appealing and not anything anyone would hold against you given the circumstances. Maybe a few beers, good conversation, and some car show therapy will be just what the doctor ordered to help you cope. Hopefully there is an aggressive investigation into this and ...

Re: Addition to my family...but she didn't stay long...
Hello All...
Been a while since I posted an update on the car development...but I have some very difficult news to share on this 48,000 mile special edition.
First, let's go with the good...here is what it became from stock. I put nothing but love and care into this machine. The car had never seen ...

*dang*...no ideas?? Is there any possibility this wire running under the pass seat could be subject to similar corrosions??

2000 SSEi, passenger side electrical issue, not the splice..
Hey all...last year I had the joy of needing to go under the driver seat, and replace my very corroded terminal block. I eliminated the water issues, and did an excellent job of properly soldering the connector, and shrink tubing it, etc. This week, the passenger door stopped working again, window ...

It looks like a great turnout this year for the club...I wish I was able to make it. I have been scheduled as best man for a buddy's wedding this Saturday, so my plans of having two 3800 cars in attendance is vetoed this year.
Lots of photos guys...and have a safe and fun weekend.

Re: Painting/prepping engine parts
Clean and prep makes all the difference. If its high wear items, I even use a quick dry primer under it.
I usually use acetone to clean, as it is quick evaporator and very powerful for prepping. Rarely ever had issues. On engine parts, I will often use a heat gun to bake in each coat...speeding up ...

Certified badass! I love it! Are you coming down to the 3800 gathering next weekend? If so, are you bringing this or the Bonne?

Re: Addition to my family...
Time for an update...its time to set it apart from the common GP and try the 2 tone. Just using silver Plasti-Dip for now, very forgiving if I don't like it, but so far it looks like it will become a permanent fixture because I like it. I still have a thin trapezoid on the lower sideskirts being ...

Re: Tranny issues? Tranny guy said do nothing?
I would consider ordering in a TransGo shift kit, buying a filter and gasket set, and change the oil to DEX6 and put the springs and spacers from the kit in the lower shift canister right away. I would also say to get that front mount done, as they do wreak havoc on trans and your PCM when they are ...

Re: Front motor mount question best option for OEM replaceme
Go with the solid hockey puck style, if you throw a sway bar bushing on top of it you get barely any increase in vibration but a much more solid feeling drivetrain and it won't ever break not to mention costs about 1/3 of what a stock replacement is.
Go here. Seriously. I have had no problems ...

Wonderful progress. I used to have a black one of these with T roofs, and loved it. Wish I had of had the energy back then to do this kind of goodness to it...
