I found my problem...
Well, the heat shield that goes around the EGR valve has one 10mm nut that holds it down right next to the throttle body. When I cranked it down, it slid the head shield over just enough to BARELY touch the linkage, and just enough to prevent it from going enough ...

Re: UIM Replaced... Now low on power?
Thanks, Matt.
Nah, it ran fine after the swap. I'm gonna try unplugging the MAF in the morning before I head off to work. If that isn't it, I guess I'll just go over everything again, and again.
Gotta be something simple that I overlooked!

Re: UIM Replaced... Now low on power?
I thought about the MAF... But would that have those effects on it? I've had trouble with em before on other vehicles... Seemed they just kinda ran rough all the time. This runs perfect. Just seems like it doesn't know that I'm flooring it.

UIM Replaced... Now low on power?
Well after my engine swap (http://pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=30576), everything seemed great til the UIM took a crap.
Got it back home, replaced it with a new one, and everything seemed fine. I've put a few hundred miles on it, and it runs perfect with the exception of one ...

Awesome Wagovan!
I'm no Honda guru by no means, but everytime I see one of those for sale I look at it. I'd love to find an awd one!
God knows how many times I've watched Wagon Attack LOL

Re: Portholes?
Lol sorry, you're right. I dunno, I guess at first they weren't so bad... But I guess it seems I've seen them on so many vehicles now around here lately, it just kinda made them cheesy to me. And being halfway OCD, it kills me to see them put on crooked

x2 on keepin em on Buicks honestly...
For some reason I have an intense hatred of those lick-n-stick Vatozone portholes. There are several vehicles with them running around here... There's a Dodge Ram down the road from me that has like 9 of them down each side of the hood

I'll try it, but before my intake kicked the bucket, it was workin just fine.
I'm still gonna swap em out tomorrow if I still have it, or pick up a junkyard one.

Thanks fellas, much appreciated.
Didn't see your posts before I tore into it... Unfortunately, I ended up using the Autozone intake, but I needed it going and outta my buddy's shop as soon as I could.

Re: Engine Swap Help: 1995 Series II into a 1998
Well I got it back home.
Of course when I flew back into St. Louis, the weather was perfect. Sleet, snow. Just the kind of climate I want to tow it home with a dolly on with my buddy's 2wd pickup. :P
Anyhow, I pulled the plugs out. When I pulled the plug from #1, coolant poured out. The rest weren ...

Sorry to hear, good luck on the interview!
For longevity and price reasons, I would say if you were to try and get either the SSEi or the GXP, I would go with the 96-99 myself. JMHO.
Thanks, I'm hopin it goes well! Fairly certain it will. Definitely be a change of pace for me... I'm in ...

Re: Engine Swap Help: 1995 Series II into a 1998
Thanks for the info. At this point I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it... I bought and sold a vehicle before the Bonneville and made enough money that I have $0 invested in it, and it's a nice car. But at this point I'm inbetween jobs and don't have the money or time to mess with it. I'm thinkin ...

Re: Engine Swap Help: 1995 Series II into a 1998
Well after all that work... I was driving to St. Louis the other day to catch a flight. Floored it to get around a couple cars so I could get into the right lane.
Tach went up to about 5k, kinda bounced around a little then I lost all power, wouldn't pull itself or go about 1,500k. Eased to the side ...

I had a hell of a time figuring out how to get my power steering pump to quit whining. Luckily I found the "Bleed Procedure" and so far all is well.
Please describe this procedure or direct me to a link.

Re: Engine Swap Help: 1995 Series II into a 1998
Yeah that's what I'm figuring... I'm gonna change it when I get back home from VT.
I had a massive coolant leak I just fixed, also... I didn't realize the plastic elbows on the Tensioner assembly were junk and problematic, or I'd have replaced them before I dropped it in. :P

LOL I used to do the same thing when in HS...
I'm relieved the swap went fairly easy. I was worried since it was going from a '95 to a '98. I've never worked on a front wheel drive car, so to me, it was actually kinda fun.
I de-greased the hell out of the engine bay, new motor... New Valve cover ...

Engine Swap Help: 1995 Series II into a 1998
Ok so I killed my Bonneville... :( Luckily I found a 95 Oldsmobile 88 LS with LOW miles for only 300 bucks. I figured either way, I could get my money back just outta selling the drivetrain and scrapping it.
So I have a few questions on this swap...
