Re: Twin Cities MN meet? Weekend of Sept 10/11? AutoX?
I know I haven't been on here in, well, over a year. I actually bought a house on some acreage just outside of Osceola Jason. I have to work @ 3 on Saturday but i'll be at the wheels and wings in the morning. I can give you a tour of the best roads out here. There are some good ones!

Re: P0171 i just cant find the problem
When I had my P0171 the stove pipe from the lim to the egr was the culpret. However, like you, my LTFTs are still around 14 @idle and 6.4 @ 2500 rpm. No more P0171 but P0300 came soon after. Do you have that code or any others. I'm assuming that if the spark isn't right the pcm will adjust fuel ...

Re: /.82 = whp to chp conversion.
Some of this has to do with the necessary compact design of the FWD trans to fit it into the engine bay in a transverse fashion, and some of it has to do with thermal efficiency with that much crap packed into the smaller package. Heat is the primary enemy. The viscosity of your fluid is what it's ...

Re: /.82 = whp to chp conversion.
A guy who worked at the shop that dynoed the LSS told me this. I asked him why my numbers were high and he gave me that line. It doesn't surprise me that he is wrong. The guy was a complete moron and almost crashed my car driving it up the ramp.I'm not sure where LSS got that information.

P0171 Fixed P0300 Remaines
Well, I got my lean condition taken care of. The stovepipe from the EGR to the LIM was cracked, I just couldn't see it as the kidney bean shaped washer was hiding it. Replaced the TB gasket while I was at it and cleaned the TB and S/C inlet. The inlet was caked with sludge. It is very difficult to ...

Re: /.82 = whp to chp conversion.
yea with rwd theres less loss it seems
Actually, FWD is a little less. There is one less thing in a FWD car to rob power that a RWD has, a driveshaft. RWD still has more usable power when launching due to the weight transfer on the drive wheels instead of off the drive wheels. All in all with ...

Re: EGR, MAF and P0171 P0300
Its real hard to tell where exactly its coming from. Sprayed it again yesterday to try and pinpoint but it wouldn't bog this time. LTFT is still pegged at 16.4 at idle and it takes over 2500 rpm to drop it. Under WOT the STFT is 0 and the LTFT drops to about 7.1 or so. I unplugged the EGR sensor at ...

Re: WCBF10 Race Vids
Around here the 50 y/o + crowd thinks that the old muscle cars are faster than every new car on the road. My old boss thinks his old 72 Cutlass could take my G8 with its 455 without trying. Looked up the stats and it runs 13.9@101. Hmmmm.... Anyways, not dissing your car 2000Silverbullet, as I would ...

Re: Is my project dead?
You tore it apart in 2005 with Nate. Remember the Michelob beer pics and Michelob symbol on the driver door. I remember driving behind it in my 93' Olds 88 L27 in my first meet back in Feb 04. It was a sweet car, but it wasn't a couple years ago, it was FIVE. I'd hate to see it go. I just bought a ...

EGR and P0171 P0300
I now not only have a lean code but now have a random misfire code. Sprayed MAF cleaner on all the vac lines and when it hit the EGR the engine bogged ever so slightly. I put my ear next to it and it hisses a little. When driving with the windows down at highway speeds there is always a smell of ...

Harmonic Balancer Confusion
I bought a new harmonic balancer for the S2 L67. It looks as though once I get the bolt off I will need some kind of puller. First things first though, the bolt. I tried this strategy....

Hope you're right. I'll take the belts off tomorrow and see what happens. What causes it to rattle like that? There is no wobbling.

Timing Chain Replacement S2 L67
Today when I drove off the highway and came to a stop I noticed a loud rattling coming from the right front of the car. Took off and it went away. I pulled into work and examined under the hood. The noise is around the pulleys. Again, pushing the throttle made it go away. I will remove the belts and ...

Ball joints and tie rods. These are almost a yearly occurrence on those cars after 10 years. I've owned an 89 G Marquis and known many people with Vics and they all did that.

Re: Jumping The A/C Clutch?
I read your post again... If you are only seeing 40 Psi on the low side the system is still very very low... Add another can and see if the compressor cycles on..
With the system shut off 80-90 Psi would not be uncommon on the low side... Say the system was charged and you saw 100 Psi on the low ...

*dang*, is there a way I can activate it? I suppose I can keep trying to dump freon in, but i'd rather not blow it up and kill myself. lol
