Re: L36 heads on an L27?
Hmmm.... Ok. So basically I can't do it unless I have someone machine me a new lower manifold... So no, I can't make it work. Thanks for the info!

L36 heads on an L27?
Pure and simple question: will the L36 heads fit on an L27? I see on the Wikipedia site about the 3800 that the L36 heads had larger valves and a higher compression ratio, and I wonder if that would help the L27 make power more like an L36, and if it's possible to use them on the L27. Any knowledge ...

Re: Performance goals
I'll have to see if I can find an example of each to test back-to-back as you suggest. Sounds like fun...
Now, with it going into a Fiero, I don't think I'll notice much of the difference should I go with a s2, considering that in pure stock trim it has 100hp and more than 100lb-ft more ...

Re: Performance goals
How is it that an engine that starts out heavier with less torque and HP in a larger external package but the same displacement can be a better performer, and fit into the engine bay more easily?
And just how much heavier is the series 1 anyway? I can't imagine it to be much heavier, but because ...

Ok, there are probably a few other posts with this information on here, but I didn't find them with the search function. So here goes:
I am looking at getting a 99 SSEi that needs has an engine knock, and an '85 Fiero with a 4-speed. My thoughts are this: I got some good help on a good place to ...

Re: N/A shortblock in a supercharged application?
I recently saw 2 complete L67s with wiring harness and ECM a couple weeks ago, one for $500, the other for $900. Apparently both of them have since sold though, and I haven't been able to find another one. That's why I'm looking for a temporary solution while I come up with the money. Apparently ...

Re: N/A shortblock in a supercharged application?
Ok, so if I'm gonna do anything keeping the original engine I'll wanna just do the whole rebuild and machine work. Gotcha.
As for my reasons for wanting to take on the project, I'm expecting to get this car for $1200 or less. That puts me having a fully loaded 99 SSEi for about $2k! Or I might be ...

N/A shortblock in a supercharged application?
I have to ask this question, as I'm expecting to trade the Taurus for or buy a 99 SSEi with an engine knock; Does anyone know if the N/A 3800 Series 2 shortblock would stand up to the supercharged application? I know that the entire top end is completely different, and I know there is a lot ...

Re: Poll: if pontiac was brought back from the dead
I'd love to hear how the Solstice was a mistake... It's easily top 5 of what they've made ever. With the G8/GTO holden cars being in there as well. Pontiac should've been 100% rear wheel drive, or atleast 100% sport oriented.

Re: Thinking of a Bonneville, rather than my Taurus
You know, you've got a point! I test-drove an N/A Bonnie today, and it DEFINITELY outperformed my Fiance's 2010 Impala, despite the Impala's 211hp rating!

I understand what you are trying to say beast, and believe me it does NOT go unheard. As I said, this is meant to be a challenge, and therefore a great accomplishment when it is finished! And while I don't have the fabrication experience I would like to have, I don't intend to give up on the project ...

My 2 project ideas
I put this in a different part of the forum, but I suppose it belongs here.
Maybe I'll get the 96-99 for my DD and get myself a cheap 92-95 to make into my project...
Speaking of projects, I wanna get some opinions. I have two MAJOR projects in mind for a Bonnie.
Project idea 1: LS4 w/AWD system ...

Gauges
So I love everything about the 92-99 cars with ONE exception: The gauge cluster. I don't like how most of the gauges seem to hang out there in the middle of nowhere. Does anyone have a good fix for this? Cheap or expensive, I don't care. I just want something that looks better than this. I invite ...

Re: Decklid and taillights
Ok, so if I want a car like the one in those pictures powered by a series 2, it'll be more realistic to get a 95 and change the decklid/taillights and engine?
