Re: Bought another car! (page 2: picked up!)
In theory, the wagon may be a better handling car than the hatchback or coupe. The extra weight in back gets the distribution a little closer to balanced, but it's not really high enough to affect roll center. You definitely lose some acceleration, but for a tight course it'd be worth the trade ...

I've seen quite a few of the Impalas run into the mid 14s box stock with an experienced driver. Don't forget, the TV shows seem to use very conservative testing methods...release the brake and stomp it from an idle, rather than an actual launch.

Didn't they pass a law saying that mods won't void your warranty? Anyways I probably won't do anything with it since it would be a pain in the butt demodding everything when I turn it in... but at this point there's a very good chance of me paying it off and keeping it at the end of the lease ...

All the fluid in the transfer case is going to pour out of that hole...do NOT drive it. Using or not using 4WD is not going to make any difference.

I've got a friend at work with an '88, I'll take a look at his tomorrow and see if I can figure something out. Alternatively, you might poke around on the www.allpar.com forums, I can't imagine you're the first to run into this problem.

You might be able to take the grille off from outside and get at the latch mechanism. Failing that, you should be to get at it from under the front bumper.

Hmm the 3.3 (kissin' cousin to the 3.8) in my Voyager doesn't use oil at NEARLY that rate, and it has 210k on it.

Re: 89 Lesabre T-type resto / L67 swap has begun

Might have to assemble a few good pieces together, but it's not really that hard. If the area goes down deep into the inner fender, you may want to weld ...
