Great! I have no idea how the radio fuse could possibly affect all those other circuits, but if normal operation is now restored, then I would just back away slowly and enjoy things as they are now. :beerchug:
It's definitely possible for circuits sharing a common ground connection to go bonkers ...

Re: Brakes draining my battery
Your brakes aren't draining your battery. Your voltage source is weak (bad battery, bad alternator, bad cable...something) so when you light up the brake lights or reverse lights it takes a toll on your source. Are there any aftermarket accessories on your car? Remote starter, alarm system, sound ...

Re: 1998 bonneville se 3.8 "something keeps draining my batt
Aside for the power drain issue the
Window's have stopped working all of them.
Locks are still functioning
Wipers are very slow but work I guess
Lights are workin
Turning only works when turning right/when turning left the turning signal light just stays on

Re: Power windows move in small increments
If it moves at all, the motor is probably fine, but the glass itself (or its regulator mechanism) is binding up, so the motor cannot move it very far before it overloads and its thermal protector (like a circuit breaker that resets itself) cuts the power for a couple of minutes to allow the motor to ...

Re: finally found a way to reseal the taillights and reflect
My car had been sitting outside for a long time and both taillight lenses eventually got rainwater in them (a lot of rainwater -- one turn-signal bulb was actually half-full of water itself). I didn't want to do more damage by trying to pry the lenses apart because I could see they were not going to ...

Re: RAC module
Will the car start without the RAC module connected?
Yes, it will. The RAC controls power locks and trunk release (in parallel with the car's own manual controls for the same items), and maybe the Security system as well. It doesn't have any input into engine operation or driving that I have ...

Re: 1998 bonneville se 3.8 "something keeps draining my batt
So my lock switches are working but windows have stopped working does that sound familiar?
Not really; those are very different circuits. If I remember right, the windows are on a 30-amp circuit breaker, not a fused circuit, so an intermittent short or overload will pop the breaker until it cools ...

Re: Hi (again)! Returning after many years away...
Thanks! I think I recognize a few other names here as well.
Speaking of "many years away," the spouse turned up an old calendar the other day that we had obviously saved as a kind of diary, because when you raise three kids you have a lot of stuff you need to keep track of. This calendar was from ...

Re: 1998 bonneville se 3.8 "something keeps draining my batt
Hi, OP, I got your PM but am not able to reply to it directly as I apparently don't have enough posts under my belt yet. I can summarize an answer here, though, because I recently solved a power drain on my '93 SSEi.
Long story short (I will tell the long story in a separate thread soon): the ...

Hi (again)! Returning after many years away...
Greetings all. In a previous life (and I think in one of the predecessor Bonneville forums rather than this one), I was long-time member acg_ssei. I tried to register with that moniker here, but I think the forum might have inherited my old login ID tied to an old employer email address that I no ...
