Re: SD header install 2016

I reversed the fans on my LSS to gain about 1/4 inch clearance, but had to drill a couple spots to attach them, IIRC.

Re: Changing pulley problem and tune

Looks like the original is missing, is that piece plastic? It looks like a simple push style plastic plug.

This is the original

Re: Spacers, anybody running them?

Apparently the guy was running them on his Ranger, and he was quite adamant that his spacing was 114.3, but I'm not going to argue. I think I may hold out for a set of hub-centric spacers, since these apparently have a 3 inch center-bore.

Thanks for all the input!

Spacers, anybody running them?

My Olds has the wheels (225's) inset a fair bit in from the fender lip, so I was just looking at a 1-1/8 set of spacers for sale locally. Is anybody here running spacers? Curious how much it affects the ride, and any other things it might affect.

Cheers

For future reference, I believe there is a connector taped to the inside of the headliner at the corner.

Re: how do YOU close your hood

I lower by hand until the struts release most of their pressure, then a release from about 6 inches is all it takes.

Cant believe my "cheap guy" good fortune

So when I lucked out and picked up a 2000 GTP L67 motor and trans a few months ago, it also came with, what I was told, a dual outlet GTP catback with some fair condition oval tips. Now I'm aware the two platforms are different, W-body vs H-body, but I was fired up when I slid that puppy under my ...

Re: intake gasket failure diagnosis

When I bought my LSS the LIM the job was performed pretty quick, not because it was showing signs of failure beyond a brown line in the expansion tank, but because its a known failure, class action style failure, and I just want to run my L67 long time. $200 (Canada) approx with metal gaskets for ...

Re: Moar Olds Now with moar Bonnie

I didn't take any pics, but I spent some time Sunday replacing the wheel bearing which was bad (hope I got the right one) and washed of what seemed like 5 years worth of pollen and crud which had essentially turned black. Lets just say I changed the water 3 times, it was really bad. Upon re-assembly ...

Re: Moar Olds

The car actually drove pretty well the 20 miles to my house, apart from the bad hub up front, and the missing muffler, which is in the trunk. I think I'm gonna swap in the new hub (included) and run this NA bad boy. Gutted airbox? Check! I'll pull the LSS off the road for some suspension and other ...

A lot better than I expected after the way you described it, just too bad that Torreador red is failing, I think it's the nicest color these cars got.

Just noticed, de-badged AND a tow hitch, hmmmm.

Re: Moar Olds

The only plan for now is getting it home tomorrow, and the shakedown will determine what route I take on it. I NEVER see any LSS's around here and I have faithfully searched my local classifieds daily for any type of 88, since I'm sure somebody will nail my LSS one day, (so many bad drivers) and I ...

Moar Olds now with moar Bonneville

Apparently silver was a big color in those years, this will be my third. Ad says it runs (didnt check) panels are good mostly, rain rinsed so no rust, it will also be the third I have owned sold from the same dealership!

Haven't really assessed it too much, it needs a muffler and wheel bearing, and ...

I like it, that car is almost identical to the 89 I had, minus the tint. That black trim looks so good on white paint.
Waiting on the follow up pics

I just came across a description of a similar whistling on a Monte, apparently there was a missing o-ring on the PCV.

Installed a new set of Belden Edge plug wires, the AL103's looked pretty good, with the toasted coconut coloring. Getting plugs soon.

NOOOO! This car had come so far, that really sucks big. Still, its another testament to the overall safety of these H-bodies, demonstrated by walking away. I've had a number of close calls so far this year. Glad everyone's OK.
