Re: Air Filter ??

That first photo is looking up from under the engine drivers side near the front. That center hole connects to a black hose going to the Air Filter housing in the top of engine compartment.

This next photo is the white plastic piece that snaps onto that first image plastic. It will still snap on ...

Re: Air Filter ??

Here is a pic of the fixed part under the engine looking up, drivers side near the front of car. That center hole is connected to a large diameter black hose that goes to the top of the engine into the air intake of the filter housing.

Air Filter ??

Hi, I'm terrible with basic maintenance, I drive em till they break.
Found this thing hanging in the front left( driver side) looks like an air intake, big hose connection to the air filter in the engine. Probably from hitting a parking curb it has cracked the housing, I can still connect it ...

Re: Why would someone poke a hole here???

It took a couple years, but I can offer an explanation for that hole. Just changed out my Front Impact Sensor this weekend. That is actually two separate holes you are looking at, that have been merged together to form one larger opening.
Just a hypothesis, but from experience, he had a Torx bit on ...

Re: Oil Leaks?

Sorry for posting that without doing the standard search first. Looks like an extremely common problem around here. Valve Cover, Oil Cooler Lines, lots to choose from.

I bought this car in August 2016, had a mechanic check it before I bought it. Said the oil looked clean, and that they had ...

Oil Leaks?

Hi all, my '05 GXP is leaking oil from somewhere. I was under it today changing out my Front Impact Sensor, (pain in the ass) but got that done successfully.
Any common places you can suggest where oil leaks are prone to occur on this car?
I was only down about 1 quart, just topped it off, will do ...

Re: HVAC regulators /actuators

Wow thanks! Good info. Looks like a serious job pulling the interior apart to get in there. I've got what I need off now for the Stereo install, and looks like I'm not even close.
Do you have any links for the correct replacement parts?
If I brought this in to a place to get done, any idea on cost ...

HVAC regulators /actuators

I'm tearing into my 05 GXP this weekend to install a new aftermarket head unit. I've pulled some nice directions on pulling off the dash and in some of the them they show you need to take off the dash all the way from instrument panel to above the glove box.

So anyway, I will work my way through ...

Re: 2005 GXP 110k value

Keep looking for a lower mileage one. I just got mine a few months ago, (05 GXP) with 62k miles for $6500. Perfect except for the HVAC gate valves not opening properly. Still need to fix that. I feel like I got a new car. Installing an aftermarket stereo system maybe this weekend. I miss the ...

Re: New GXP Owner

okay then, so simply going to preferences and turning off the mirror option fixed that problem. I guess I see the point, but honestly, that would have annoyed me.

Battery checked out fine, I looked some of the fuses, all look good.

Re: New GXP Owner

Thanks, will change that profile entry.

Forgot to mention, all of these codes that are listed are Historic codes, so they were cleared somewhere along the line.
The battery is very new and very clean looking at the terminals, but tomorrow morning it will be the first thing I do.

Thanks for the ...

Re: New GXP Owner

Here is some more info that I got from the inspector of my car. I think it shows what you would expect with the scan codes. He was showing me this stuff as he was doing it, I did not really understand it all, he seemed convinced the Actuators were not doing what they were supposed to.

Codes

Re: New GXP Owner

GTX - GXP - Got it! Thanks.

Green corrosion? Does that affect the AC? My buddy and I pulled the back seat up doing our first inspection, simply trying to find the battery. Found it, and it's all very clean under there.

This car only has 64k miles on it. Very clean.
