Re: could my bonnie actually be dead?
Well looks like it true. She's dead (que trumpet) :sadeyz: I don't want to spend 2500 on a new engine. So sad to see my beauty die like this tho. I will be getting a newer car so I don't think I'll be posting here as much anymore :( but I will continue to check out everyone's progress on their ...

Re: could my bonnie actually be dead?
Yeah I checked the oil and it was normal, or at least what I think is normal. Dark brown once on the paper and black on the stick, and it was full. I also checked the coolant and it was also clean and full.
No loss off noticeable power up until the moment it starting clinging and clanging.

could my bonnie actually be dead?
So I was driving down a two lane high way and I go to pass this car wot. Then mid pass I hear this metal pinging almost slapping noise and bring it to the side and put it in park to see if it happens at idle and sure enough the noise is still there. I figure I better try to make it to an exit and ...

Re: Mass air flow
Will any 3.8 maf sensor work or do I need to have one that came off a supercharged 3.8? The reason asking is because ive found a treasure trove of 3.8 maf sensors but they are on impalas, regals and grand prix, etc...

Re: Mass air flow
So I was unable to find a used known to be good maf sensor. Called around and wow, a brand new acdelco is 418$. So I am going to settle for a delphi brand that needs to be special ordered from AutoZone for 145$. Is this going to serve my car good? My other options are sparxs brand I think they said ...

Mass air flow
My car is stalling out at random times. Sometimes it will be days or hours in between. I've had codes run on the vehicle and I'm pulling up mass or flow sensor. I've read on a few other sites that unplugging the sensor will default the system for a temporary fix. I'm about an hr away from home so ...

Subwoofer to monsoon amp
Will the monsoon amp power a a single twelve inch sub? I'm meaning, if I disconnected the 6x9s and ran a wire from one or both to the sub would it provide more base then the 6x9s? It seems as tho the speakers themselves peak way to early and the amp has more to give, so i was just curious.

New problem. I can't get the fuel pump out through the access hole. It seems to have swelled, has anyone else experienced this, if so how did you get it out?

Re: Fuel pump
Well I won't be needing the directions above after all unless the car is giving me trouble again, or appearing to run abnormally. The car won't start at all. I hear no buzz from the pump and it is receiving power after checking the inline connection.

Re: Fuel pump
I did try finding it in tech info perhaps I didn't look close enough? Before I do switch out the pump, could a clogged fuel filter cause these same symptoms? My car won't start at all so ill need to drain the lines. When turning the key to on I don't hear the usual buzz from the pump priming. My ...

Fuel pump
Is it hard to change a fuel pump? I know there's an access in the trunk but is it a difficult procedure? Also how do I bleed the lines and release pressure so i don't go squirting fuel everywhere. Last question, can this be done while smoking a cigarette?? Ok, ok that last one was a joke and I hope ...

Re: Looks like its time to let go of the Bonneville
Sorry to hear about your bonne, but the scavenger in me is starting to crawl out. I know you want to sell the car whole but I was wondering what the condition of your taillights and trunk reflector was in and if you'd be willing to sell them?

Cigar lighter question
Do these cars not have a cigar lighter that supplies current to things plugged into it even with the car off? I can't charge my phone in the car for more than 5 min with the car turned off with the ignition off. If not, is there a way to make it so that it's always on?

Re: Codes
Yes the P0243 is gone but I'm not sure if it's just because they cleared the check engine light or not? Since I've had it, it's always had 4lbs of boost and since gutting the air box I got 5. I'm not sure if what is supposed to be? Perhaps someone with the same engine cloud elaborate?
