Re: Time to Say Goodbye

Hi,

Just a brief follow-up to what finally happened with my car. I was told by my car dealer friend that my car sold the first week. He did not know what it sold for or who bought it. He said that he would try to find out, but he never mentioned it again. I just let it go, happy with the belief ...

Re: Time to Say Goodbye

My friend who is a car dealer and also the person I bought the Bonneville from back in 2002 (for $10,000.00) checked the VIN and found out that my Bonneville will be auctioned on Wednesday. He sent a picture of it in a lot with all of the other cars. I felt happy that it is getting auctioned instead ...

Re: Time to Say Goodbye

I donated my Bonnie to Wheels for Wishes (Make-A-Wish Foundation). On Sunday, I cleaned out my car, removed the plates, reggie, etc., and I cried a whole lot while I did so. Seventeen years is a long time to have a car, and it was such a good car--lots of fond memories. The last song that played on ...

Re: Time to Say Goodbye

Just a little update. I still have the Bonnie because somebody is dragging his feet. He has finally decided to donate it, though; we just can't decide where. I am thinking the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Good idea?

I will keep you posted....

Time to Say Goodbye

Hi All,

It is with great sadness that I must tell you that the time has come for me to sell (or donate, not sure which yet) my beloved 1998 Galaxy Silver Bonneville SLE. This car was my buddy since 2001--even named him Benny after Benjamin Bonneville. It is just that he is no longer reliable ...

Brake lines

Hi Guys!

Hope everyone is doing well. It's been a looooong time since I've been on, so you probably won't even remember me. That's okay, I deserve it for being so neglectful. I am going to check out the posts now to catch up....

Anyway, I have a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SLE ("Benny"). Well, today a ...

Re: Looks like I am going to have to get rid of my Bonnevill

No, he did not change spark plug wires or check gaps on plugs because he said wires looked good.

Anyway, I brought the car to my mechanic, and all that he had to do was re-position the coils. Apparently, my husband did something wrong when he was switching the coils around. It cost me just $95.00 ...

Re: Looks like I am going to have to get rid of my Bonnevill

Here's the latest:

You remember that the scan said misfire on cylinder #2. He switched the coil from cylinder #2 with cylinder #6. Scanned it again and it said misfire now on cylinder #6. He figured that it was the coil, so he bought a new coil and put it on #2. Scanned again and it is still said ...

Re: Looks like I am going to have to get rid of my Bonnevill

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. I told him and he said that he is going to fix it.

Sorry for the drama, but I was really upset. I will try to keep it more objective from now on.

Re: Looks like I am going to have to get rid of my Bonnevill

You guys must be sick of me and my Bonneville by now. Well, I am sick of EVERYTHING by now. After being forced to drive this car with the misfiring cylinder #2, it got progressively worse. Now I have bad hesitation and stalling. (Bear in mind that my husband had the ability at the beginning to fix ...

Re: Looks like I am going to have to get rid of my Bonnevill

Thanks for your honest thoughts on this matter. You've given me a lot to think about.

Other than my misfiring cylinder #2, the car runs well. I haven't fixed the cylinder because everything regarding the cars has been up in the air and no final decisions have been made. My husband bought the ...

Looks like I am going to have to get rid of my Bonneville

Bottom line: Hubby's friend is selling a 2004 Mercedes-Benz E320. Hubby wants it. Therefore, one of the other cars has to go. That means MY car, the Bonnie, has to go. I am very, very upset. I HATE MERCEDES-BENZ! So this means that he will have that car and I will have to drive the 2010 Charger. I ...

Re: Help! Misfiring Cylinder

Thanks so much 96 SSEi. I appreciate the reply and guidance. Not sure I will do anything at this point because it looks like I am not even going to be able to keep my car. I am going to do a separate post about that. Very sad.
Thanks again for the help.

Help! Misfiring Cylinder

Hi Guys,

I haven't been on in ages (sorry), but I still have mu Bonnie. It was riding rough--you know, idling rough and accelerating unevenly--so I scanned it. Misfire on cylinder number 2. I REALLY need to drive it just about 12 street miles tomorrow. Will it be okay? What's the worst thing that ...

Re: 2002 Bonneville SSEi on Barrett-Jackson

I knew that a Certified Bonneville Nut would understand how I feel. :) Yes, I am crazy for that car.

Is the tranny the "fatal" thing on these cars?

It is a 2010 Charger, and it has a 3.5 L engine. It has such nice lines and looks so mean, but it is just a regular car. I guess I expected more from ...

Re: 2002 Bonneville SSEi on Barrett-Jackson

Hi There!

I hit the 100,000 mile mark on July 13, 2017. :bwoohoo:

I am so proud of my baby.

My husband thinks that this is the end for the Bonneville, so he is encouraging me to drive his Charger SXT so that I can get used to it "just in case." I think that the Bonnie and its 3800 motor can keep ...

I always appreciate your help.
