Re: What's the easiest and quick fix for leaking water shiel
It almost looks like the factory used a type of sealant/adhesive out of a tube, has anyone tried something like that?

What's the easiest and quick fix for leaking water shields?
The carpet under my doors has been getting wet with every hard rain. It is time to reseal the water shields in the doors, and I have read various threads on it. My question is- do I have to completely remove the shields, clean them and install the new seal tape? Or have people had success just ...

Re: Code P0440
Well it seems that I have it fixed now. Here are the steps I took: 1) Scrubbed all the rust off the filler neck sealing area, put a light coating of grease on it and then a new cap- code came back. 2) Replaced the purge solenoid/valve (the one on the engine)- code came back. 3) Replaced the vent ...

Re: MAF sensor tap test failure
The original MAF sensor on my 2003 SLE recently failed, as engine was stalling out on me and eventually set code P0440. Just pushing down slightly on the sensor from the top would cause the engine to stall. I replaced it with a Cardone Select part # 8650015 (the most expensive that the parts store ...

Code P0440
My 2003 SLE has been setting code P0440 since I bought it. The previous owner had the gas cap replaced and the filler neck cleaned up but still kept giving him the check gas cap message. I recently replaced the intake gaskets and installed a new upper intake. I had the battery disconnected for a ...

Re: 150,000 Mile Transmission- New PCS or Rebuild?
Well after a busy weekend of replacing lower intake gaskets, new Dorman upper intake manifold, new Dorman fuel tank sensor, and new KYB rear shocks, I finally got the Transgo shift kit installed. It certainly helped the 1-2 shift. It used to shudder at least 6 times during the shift, now it only ...

150,000 Mile Transmission- New PCS or Rebuild?
I just purchased a 2003 SLE for a reasonable price that has a shudder when shifting between 1 and 2. I immediately dropped the pan and replaced the fluid and filter. I also flushed new fluid into the torque converter by removing the cooler line. The fluid was very dirty and was likely original. The ...
