Re: mystery coolant leak

I went ahead and wiped all the moisture out of the cap and neck that way I can check after the work commute again tomorrow. Just for my own assurance, when Dex cool mixes with oil is it pretty obvious? Ive seen the milky mix of traditional coolant in oil but mine looks nice and amber. This oil ...

Re: mystery coolant leak

It seems to be coming from the rear like towards the firewall but I checked the hoses going into the firewall and they appear to be dry. But I just checked under the cap after a 30 mile drive and it was still moist. Oil looks new still

mystery coolant leak

I know this has been covered a few times but it seems like no matter what the symptoms are evereyone points to LIM gaskets but before i start pulling it apart id like a few opinions. Ever since I bought my 98 ssei Ive noticed the smell of coolant under the hood, and when I brought it home the ...

Re: sub box in a 98

Lol right on like I said its getting it in the trunk thatl be the killer the funk itself will hold it with plenty of room to spare. The audio shop said they'd get me one for 70 thats 3.4 cubes I belive and he said its made of 3/4 too but he never gave me the measurements on it. I just really hope ...

Re: sub box in a 98

That price does include shipping and the only reason I'm very interested in this one is because it meets sundown specs and theres a couple YouTube videos of people that bought it and actually got it so the company must not be entirely shady

Re: sub box in a 98

This one looks like its almost perfect for the sa12s and it should fit in the trunk with no issue but its getting it into the trunk I'm concerned with. Idk how to figure what will fit through the opening

Re: sub box in a 98

And if I go to change to my other head unit does anyone know if I need a special adapter to keep the Bose amp working? I know in my 95 trans am I just used the standard gm adapter and it still powered the factory amp but idk if this will be the same situation

Re: sub box in a 98

Lol well that makes me feel better. Now the problem is finding a good box. I really dont want to build one and the prefab the audio shop offered was only 3.2 cubes and they call for around 4. That and most prefabs seem to be pretty chincy

Re: sub box in a 98

Thats fine I figured I would need some dynamat or something of that nature to quiet it down a little but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't gonna sound like the sub's were in the car next to me you know what I mean lol

sub box in a 98

Trying to decide if this is worth it or not. Ive always had a system in every vehicle Ive owned and since this is my first car with a trunk Ive been excited to get a good pair of 12s and a good amp back there. Well I noticed the back seat dosnt fold down, just the armrest hole opens up. My main ...

ssei gear selector hard to move

Since I bought my 98 its been kinda hard to shift into gear especially compared to my 05 grand prix. It has the console shifter and it never hesitates to engage or anything just seems like it takes a lot more effort than it should. Is there anything that can be lubed or is this normal? I pulled the ...

Re: another hid post

Ok well you kept me from ordering them tonight. I think I may look into the HIRs. hate to have to trim my headlights but I guess they shouldn't be to hard to find at the yard to practice on. I'd like to see a good set of those in person first tho. I can't see myself doing the projector swap since it ...

Re: another hid post

If you aim them right its not that bad to other drivers. I had my wife driving my truck and she passed me in the on coming lane And it didn't seem any different then the rest of the cars and I was in my trans am. But I do understand the issue with blinding people but I figured with how low the ...

another hid post

ive been searching all morning for some info on putting hids in my 98 ssei. i know theyre not the best option and a retrofit is a better approach but i dont really want to spend that kind of money. i had cheap o depot hids in my 2000 sierra and really liked them, they worked fine for over two years ...
