ssei gear selector hard to move

Post by 93fs »

Since I bought my 98 its been kinda hard to shift into gear especially compared to my 05 grand prix. It has the console shifter and it never hesitates to engage or anything just seems like it takes a lot more effort than it should. Is there anything that can be lubed or is this normal? I pulled the top of the console out to get to the shifter assembly and sprayed some gm super lube on the cable with no change.

Are you by any chance parking on an incline, like a driveway? Mine's hard to shift out of park if I just use park and the car rolls back a bit. I've learned to set the parking brake before shifting into park.

Any difference between a level surface and an incline is what I'm asking.
