Re: What to expect from a GXP vs an SE
Out here in the flat lands of South Dakota, with no wind, at 80, I average 29-30. Throw in a headwind and it drops to 25.

You could always sell that head unit and buy one that does support steering wheel controls.

Is this what the back of the radio looks like? What extra wires do you have that are not listed in this picture?

Just a quick glance at the install manual for that radio, it doesn't appear to support steering wheel controls. Here is how my Clarion works with ascw.... there is a plug from the ascw that plugs into the back of the radio.

I really hope Buick decides to add these to the line up for 2015.

You know 00Beast I found this in the stick at the top where all pertinent information about common problems are kept. I did not intend to "dig up old threads" but felt it necessary to post that a better option was available. Why chastise me for looking in the common problems and following the link ...

I don't recall where the cigarette lighter is on these year cars or if they have ashtrays, but if they do, make sure a coin or some other metal didn't fall down in the socket. It will cause the issue you are having.

1 thing you could have tried before buying a new coil was to swap it with one of the other ones. If it moves with the coil, then the coil is bad. If it doesn't then the ICM is bad. Just my 2 cents.

Re: 2001 SLE Auto Climate control issues
Check if all your fuses are pushed in all the way. My IGN3 fuse was on the border of contact. Thus my radio, climate, and traction stuff would all not work. Or would work sporadically going over bumps and rough roads.
Would you be referring to the fuse panel under the back seat or the one under ...

2001 SLE Auto Climate control issues
My climate control doesn't always want to turn on. Usually if I immediately shift the car into drive it will. I don't believe this has anything to do with the control head itself but more with the vibration of shifting. I can also get it to turn on by slamming my hand down hard on the shifter but ...

Re: Seatbelt and door bonger driving me mad!!!!
Have you considered the fact that the g force acting on your body, as you accelerate, pushes your body further into the seat. Thus causing the mechanical retractor to take up the slack.

You could also check the wires from the abs sensors in the front wheel bearings. Since hitting a bump will jostle those wires, make sure you don't have any broken/pinched wires.

Re: no mufflers? yes or no?
Unless you like loud exhaust I'd wait. While I have not personally heard a 3.8 without mufflers, I did remove the stock mufflers from my '93 Grand Prix w/ 3.4 dohc and it was stupid loud. That only lasted a few days before I couldn't stand it anymore and put mufflers back on it. Just my opinion.

One other thing that gets overlooked is the cabin air filter. If it is dirty and plugged, it can cause the condition you describe. I'd check that first.
