2005 SLE Plugging LIM TB coolant passages

I had did this many years ago to my 2003 SSEi on the lower intake manifold but don't remember where to get parts and what tools are needed. Like a drill.... taps, etc. I do know that they're made made of brass.

Are these plugs threaded or are they like a freeze plug that you tap in?

All help is ...

2005 Gxp transmission question

I am likely to catch heat for asking here. I have a customer with a GP GXP with a 5.3 and they said the transmission went out in it. No forward or reverse gears. Fluid has a slight burn smell to it.

This vehicle has the paddle shifters on it and I would likely know what different cues there are, if ...

2005 SLE HELP! Fuel line break

The fuel line snapped at the elbow and am wondering what to do to fix it. I have seen compression couplings put on the line at the wrecking yard… not sure if I want to try this. Or should I replace the entire line?

Please advise me on this matter.

Thank you in advance.

I would hear that consistenty if the rod bearings were the culprit. I can hear it on the top end.

2005 SLE Lifter Chatter on Deceleration

if I rev the engine, it make a chattering noise. It had gotten to a point where it chattered loudly. I went to get a set from the wrecking yard from a police unit Impala with a 3.8 in it. it helped, but I could still hear the chattering. Wondering if I should get another set from the yard or get a ...

Modifying Spark plugs

I have seen it done to plugs and am unsure about what results may come from doing so.

the modification is grinding back the ground electrode so that the center electrode is visible.

My thoughts is that this should NOT be done, however, I would like to hear other people's thoughts on this. I think ...

Re: Towing greater than 1000 lbs

I agree.... Towing will overheat the trans in a bad way....

Even my van that was set up to tow had HD cooling, and Dual trans Coolers from the factory... The trans still burned up... But keep in mind that even tho my van is a unibody, there is some serious metal to support towing... Its also ...

Re: 2003 SSEi ECM/PCM question

Master PASS key is the black key, the valet key is gray. You can't use a valet key for programming.

That picture is about 15 years old from a car I had long ago.

Headers will be on ebay or ZZP.

Ok…. My friend has the PCM in the car and the security light is solid and the car won’t start. He ...

Re: 2003 SSEi ECM/PCM question

Here are the instructions from the service manual:
1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF, using a master Pass-Key® III key (black).
2. Observe the security telltale. After approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn off.
3. Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
4. Repeat step 1-3 ...

As long as you have the standard supporting mods and you're certain it isn't a crazy tune, it should benefit you.
How is the security relearn done?

FYI - Engine has those Yella 1.8 roller rocker arms and a 3.6 ZZP pulley

I know I will catch heat for this but it's a 2007 Lucerne and I was unable to find a proper forum for them, or didn't LOOK hard enough.

No it is NOT the N* and I am certainly glad for it. It's the 3.8 L and I think the last year they were used.

Just got this car and it has 78k miles. Guy told me that it doesn't have forward. Confirmed this by seeing that the forward band is broken. I did find some other interesting things inside..... some of the teeth on the dual planetary gearset scarred and the sun gear has chipped teeth.... ALSO.... the ...

I'm assuming the Impy FDR is for what you're trying to do but I'm not sure. Look up the pcm part numbers to see if they're the same. Also realize there are differences in 4t65 control over the years.

I have looked at other transmissions in the wrecking yard with the F83 RPO code… And have noticed ...

Have you checked everything for you play? How do the lower control arm bushings look and feel?

They’re not that old and frankly, am thinking of taking it to a shop and have them look at it.
