Ok well I was reading about the PCM upgrade on Intense's website and like..maybe everything is fine..and that's all I need???

INTENSEâ„¢ Standard PCM - $99.99
Ideal for stock to slightly modded cars with induction mods, exhaust mods, smaller supercharger pulley and/or rocker arms - features removal of all speed limiters, higher shift points (~6,000 RPM)** and rev limiter (6,200 RPM) , proprietary transaxle shift behavior adjustments** including 'skip shifts', air/fuel adjustments, knock retard decay rate adjustment, cooling fan control adjustments (180°), cooling fans on at key-off for 180 seconds, elimination of Abuse Mode, Differential Scoring Protection, Supercharger Torque Management, etc.

INTENSEâ„¢ Custom PCM - $199.99
You tell us what you want changed and we'll take care of it. Select this option if you require different MAF tables, injector constants, speedometer adjustments, or other changes not available in the a la carte menu. Please detail the changes you require in the custom settings box.

INTENSEâ„¢ PCM Tune-Up Service - $99.99
You tell us what you want changed and we'll take care of it. Select this option to upgrade your exsisting INTENSEâ„¢ PCM with any changes that you require. Please detail the changes you require in the custom settings box.

I'm guessing the Intense Standard PCM right?
well if that's all I need for my car to perform a little bit better then someone back up my decision p-p-p-p-please!

A PCM upgrade isnt going to solve your slow acceleration time, you have more pressing issues. Did you do a full blown tune-up?

Did you make sure ALL of the things on that tune up list were completed within the recommended mileages?

A pcm won't do jack *shoot* if the rest of the car isn't up to par and it certainly isn't a replacement for a proper tune-up. Everything on that list is pretty much basic maintenance in the first place.

For the stock PCM, it says:
"Ideal for stock to slightly modded cars with induction mods, exhaust mods"

Have you done any of these?

If you don't have a CAI or FWI, a P&P LIM, and/or Hi Flow cat, PEMs or some other HiFlow exhaust component, you should consider them before the PCM.

If this is your mind thought, then why as you asking for help? BONNEVILLE GEARHEADS are trying to help you, but you aren't listening to what they have to say.

Time? a tuneup can be done in a weekend no problem

a PCM is a bad idea if you dont have the proper supporting mods and a fully tuned up car. you NEED to get your car in shape before you do anything more. it will be worth your time if you plan on keeping this car.

You need a 100% complete tune-up. When I bought my '92 in June '07, the car was fairly sluggish. It only ran about a 8 second 0-60, which is stock for mine.

I proceeded to do a full tune up consisting of spark plugs, wires, O2 sensor, cleaned the MAF sensor, PCV Valve and transmission modulator. I just recently did a timing chain that had quite a bit of slack in it, and it cleared up my rough idle a LOT. I doubt you need a timing chain though. I now consistently run 7 second flat 0-60s with only a high-flow cat and FWI when my car is running properly. This should tell you that you NEED to do a tune up before considering any mods. We are not trying to tell you what to do, just simply recommending the absolute requirements to making your car run properly.

You figured out your slow 0-60 time problem. Was your rearview brake pedal stuck in neutral again?

Razr, they really aren't yelling at you. Well, maybe a little. They are trying to help you get what you want, but they don't feel like you're listening to them. They are just getting a little frustrated. These guys know what they're talking about and truly want to help.

I think what a lot of them are saying is that they want you to focus on getting your car in perfect running order before spending any money on mods that may end up costing you more money or more harm than good in the long run. I think they want you to be less worried about your 0-60 times right now, and more worried about making her purr like she should.

I know that buying/working on normal tune up items isn't nearly as exciting as throwing in something that will give you a nice HP jump. The problem is if you want to keep the car running for a good long time (like we all do) it's something that has to be taken care of.

You will find the guys here to be very meticulous when it comes to tune up items and keeping things running perfect (especially the gearheads). This is for a reason and not because they are crazy or have nothing better to do.

My vote is to reread their suggestions on the maintenance items. Once you have time to get through them, then start looking into more performance type mods.

My first thing done was a full on good tune up, and I replaced the O2 at that time...From there I gutted the Air Box and noticed a slight all around gain..

Then I went to a Shave Throttle Body, got a little more response off the line...

After that I replaced the Cat( I knew it was starting to get restricted, The shop was 100% sure of that after removal and showed it to me ) The Cat was again another improvement( brought back lost power )

As I had the lower intake off, we noticed that the ports were cut horribly, and there was plenty of room for improvement... So the next time I went into the motor a ported one went in... This was the single best improvement made to the car and one of the worst restrictions in terms of flow into the engine... Once I knew the engine was able to inhale I went with the Intense FWI..

But keep in mind this is how the car ran with one single mod( gutted Airbox ) This car ran this was from day 1...

But the funny part is that the 95's were a little bit of a different breed.. And weren't as highly controlled as the 97+

So the 1-2 Shift for the 95's is 5950.... In the Vid I am on WV SR 2 South.... I punch it at about 38-39 Mph and hit first gear
Image

This is more or less how the car ran Bone Stock off the showroom floor

A couple comments:
(1) When I recently purchased a PCM from Intense for my 97SE, they emailed me back after my order to tell me they didn't have any cores, so they couldn't send me one. My options were to find one on my own at a wrecker and send it to them, or pull the one from my car and send them mine. Presumably, you will be faced with the same options. Eventually they refunded my money. So if you want to get an Intense PCM, your first step is probably going to be prowling your local wrecking yards for a PCM to send to Intense. For someone who doesn't have time to do a tuneup, well, I wish you luck.

(2) I think your 0-60 times might be accurate for your normally aspirated 3800 with the granny gear final drive ratio.

He's got the 3.05 gears. If the car is in good running order, has a tuned PCM, and a better intake he should be looking at at least somewhere between 7-9 sec. Not over. But there are too many variables like his launch, how he timed it, etc. Without going to the track, video taping his gauges while doing it, or using Tuner software he can't get an accurate time.

anyways

if you seriously highly 100% recommend me to to the tune up list then fine i'll do it,

seriously calm down people none of that:

"If this is your mind thought, then why as you asking for help? BONNEVILLE GEARHEADS are trying to help you, but you aren't listening to what they have to say."

just take it easy really..it will be ok

i have the 3.08 or whatever gears

Half the Moderators and Gearheads are also at WCBF or on the road between there and home. Patience. Nobody gets instant results here.

In addition, don't tell people to chill or relax. Your direction here is a little off-kilter, and it's disrespectful to ask for advice, then flatly turn it down when asking for help.

If you don't put out the effort to cover the basics first, why should anyone bother to put out the effort to help you?

You can start over with a new topic now, with a fresh mindset and attitude.
