Wondering what some good N/A mods are, is there a thread already on this topic? I'm not trying to make my SE anything crazy so im not asking about higher compression pistons, head porting, etc. Thats what the RX-7 is for :). Just some run of the mill mods that could boost it up a little. I guess one question I have is what is the largest exhaust i can go without interfering with backpressure needs? Ported throttle bodies or larger throttle bodies without remapping my chip? perhaps headers if they dont require an engine pull. Things of that nature or some easy bolt-ons that people have had good luck with.

First off, get all your maintenance up to date, especially the upper plenum and lower intake gaskets. While you're in there, cleaning up the LIM is good for a few HP and some more kick on the L36, as it was a bad casting to begin with.

Next, I recommend the Intense Fenderwell Intake. No need for ported or different throttle bodies unless you're doing a cam or rockers.

Exhaust: The stock cat-back is fine to around 300 WHP, even on the SE. Anything you do there will just be for sound. You can replace the downpipe from the rear manifold, as that's a restriction, and the front exhaust manifold can either be replaced with a ZZP PowerLog or ported. Headers are massive overkill on a stock valvetrain L36.

You will want a custom tune to your PCM. These cars don't have "chips" they just have a flashed PCM, and you have to re-flash it to make changes, using a PC-based tuner. Any mod you make will only work to its full potential if you get a tune.

Hope this helps.
