So yesterday we got pounded with snow here in NY. Not bad, but what did make it terrible was that my blower motor died for heat/air for the cab. I can still adjust the fan level, but no air. I checked fuses and all seems well there. Being that I'm in school still, I have tools, but am limited to where I can work on the car.

So now, how hard would it be to change all the parts necessary, or should I take it to a shop to have it done? Thankyou for any help.

I haven't done it myself, but from reading posts of those who have, it's not a hard job. More frustrating. Even pulling the carpeting back, you have to find just the right position for getting it out and the new one in.

The hardest part is finding a position that's somewhat comfortable to work under there for the amount of time you need to.

The motor would be located right behind the dash on the passenger side, shouldn't it?

And it works because were getting some warmer weather here soon, hopefully I can get this done asap before the weather goes south on us again.

just a note: are you sure your motor is actually out? Right now I am having an intermittent on and off problem. My connectors from the blower to the harness are heavily corroded and are probably the issue.

Note if you pull the injectors to obserbe fuel delivery...make sure you leave the plugs in and disconnect the ign. Believe me

The thing doesn't work at all. I can adjust the fan speed as much as I want and it wont do anything. I've tried at random intervals even and still nothing.

Plus, when I first got the car running, the motor sounded like crap, then it started working better all of a sudden for a week or two. So I should have expected this to happen.

Right. Remove the lower dash panel on the passenger side, lay on your back and look up. You may be able to gain some access by removing the glove compartment.

Okay, thankyou for that. I called a garage for a price to do it. 350 for parts and labor. Thats crazy, and I can buy an AC Delco blower motor for 120.

So, bringing this one back, my heater core ended up goin. I was driving down a highway goin home from school and all a sudden I could smell anti-freeze very strong and had steam blown up my window. I looked at the passenger seat floor and had anti-freeze pouring out. Went to the shop and got it fixed. Now still gota do the blower motor. Goin to be in the next few weeks here I think.

Should've had them do it with your heater core replacement. I guarantee they had to remove it or deal w/ it in some way.

That's what I did, had to leave the car with my mom to get it done. I was also goin to see if they could do the blower motor too, but they thought it may work after the heater core was done. I guess the dealer part for the blower motor cost $200 or so, so instead I'll buy it off ebay and still do that myself.
