Anyone ever done this?

I've done several on RWD G-body cars but never on something like a Lesabre.

It would be nice to have real gauges instead of idiot lights if it's not going to be a total pita do do.

I too am interested in this, and am curious if it would be easier to install aftermarket <digital in the transluscent strip on the dash sounds cool> or cluster swap. I have heard that it takes rewiring, and I suspect the idiot lights are in that strip on the non granny dash, but I will want to get FSM before I try anything. I will definitely let you know how it goes, if you dont beat me to it.

If it's a 96 or newer, get a ScanGauge that plugs into the OBDII port. Less hassle wiring it up and you select the functions you want shown. Many more functions to boot.

Earlier, you're on your own.

I believe it is the 93 lesabre he is posting about in other threads. That is why I have such a keen interest.

Yes, it's a '93.

The lights in the translucent strip might be a tough one, but I'm going this weekend to check out the Lesabres at my local pick a part and that might give me some info.

First step is get your hands on those factory service manuals (FSM's). They've proven invaluable in the year I've had my car. Not something used every day, and glad to have them when repair time rolls around.

Next, how different is the wiring just by eyeballing two different clusters?

I now have a tach cluster to do the swap with, and I can tell you that there is only one wiring connector on the rear of it. I'll post back once I have more info on this.

I can tell you that the temperature and oil pressure sending units have to be swapped for the gauge types.

I was suspecting that as i was looking into it more. and i was closely examining the clusters on ebay, and see no where where the idiot lights would be. Do you see anything with it in hand right there? Like abs, brake light, etc?
