Thought I would post a few pics of my '04 Mustang convertible - my fair-weather vehicle. It's a 3.9L V6 (a 3.8L with a longer stroke and different crank - only made the last half of 2004) and automatic tranny. It currently has a bit over 98,000 miles, but looks like it could be 20,000. It's the "Premium" trim, with most all options, including leather and the Mach 460-watt stereo with 6CD in dash changer. The color is called "Screaming Yellow," and on this style (99-04) was only made in 2004. It is a much brighter, deeper yellow than the lighter "Zinc Yellow" you typically see on this style of Mustang. They continued the color into '05 and '06 on the newer style, but it's a relatively rare find on this body style.

I haven't had the chance to get any real great pics with the backgrounds I would like, but I made do with the lighting and background I had while visiting my grandparents' place in WI, the weekend I bought the car. It really needs a good clay bar treatment to look its best, but it's still pretty sharp  It's going into storage tomorrow, so I'll have to get better pics maybe next spring.

Thanks guys....the camera is just a point-and-shoot Canon PowerShot SX120. It's not an SLR, unfortunately, but maybe I will eventually be able to afford to get one. This SX120 has a lot of manual settings and a nice 10x zoom though, so there's plenty to play with, versus most point-and-shoot cameras.

I've done a fair amount of professional photography, working PR duties at a university I attended, and went to school as a graphic designer for a good while. I still enjoy dabbling in it in my free time. I always love doing pics of vehicles!

Where'd you go to school?

I shot sports for MSU Mankato's paper my last year there.

Little too soft for me, but there's something to be said for a car you can just chill and cruise around in.. Looks clean!

Sweet - glad there's some fellow photography fans here. I went to Pillsbury in Owatonna for 2 1/2 yrs for graphic design, then transferred to NIU in NE Wisconsin, where I served as photographer while at school.

Yeah, it's not as hard-core of a Mustang as my dream car would be, but it does well for how I use it. My dream vehicle would be a royal blue GT V8 with a 5 speed, but since I'm still younger, insurance would kill me at this stage in life, even though I have a clean record. I was trying to be half-way practical (haha....yellow...Mustang...convertible...yeah right) about buying it, because when I bought the car a month ago, I was considering driving it through winter, and I knew getting a V8 Mustang through winter would be really frustrating. But....a deal fell into my lap with my Olds, so that's even better - after driving my Stang for a month, I don't even want to put this V6 through a Northern MN winter anyways. It's got a few tears in the top that I'm a bit concerned about leakage with. Hopefully next summer, a new top will come.

Oh cool cool. I got a Powershot A1300 IS. Just was surprised at the vibrantcy (even a word? :dontknow: ) of the color. Did you photoshop anything?

Clean car! The yellow works well for it, even though I usually don't like yellow.

Yeah those were definitely edited. And vibrance is the word. That's the exact word they use in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop now, in fact!

Thanks. That's what I say too, and that's the response of most other people who see it in person as well. I'd rather have a nice shade of blue or green, but this car really pulls off the yellow well. I've grown to like it, as it is a more unique color for this car. Just gotta watch my speed all the time - it definitely gets noticed.

Yeah, there was some editing - courtesy of the Adobe CS4 suite, but mostly just what it took to make it true to life (except for the 1st and 9th pic - I was getting a bit carried away). Honestly, it really is THAT yellow, though. One of the more vibrant yellows I've seen on a car.
