well as the title says.. i've had some trouble with the bonne lately (chunked #3 piston) and i've been considering all other alternatives.. one of the others is a 30k l32 block from morad for $800.. how do you guys think this will work?? i know the rods are better than the l67's but what about the rest. i wonder if this would make for a decent setup? l67 or l32 bottom end??

I'd lean towards the L32 block.

Supporting vendors that support you help to keep this community thriving.

The L32 is the same as the L67 in terms of the block except for the stronger rods. There are other differences in the L32 vs the L67 such as the blower, throttlebody etc..but do not pertain to the block.

sorry rogue, no offense meant to morad or intense or anybody just passing along a place that i use all the time LKQ is very reliable. but morad wrote the book on 3800 dismantling so he is a good choice as well

what about l36's is the block for them the same?

Rogue not rouge.

The L36 (Series II N/A) is a higher compression engine with weaker rods than both the L67 and L32. The series III N/A motor or L26 is the same as the L36 with the exception of the upper intake and electronic throttle body (possibly other changes like smaller injectors that I don't recall at the moment).

By the way no offense taken but with today's struggling economy it makes sense to support vendors that have supported you. It doesn't do anyone in the community good if vendors pull out of this market or go under.

sorry typo, and also sorry for the wrong engine codes i am trying to learn all the codes still i was primarily concerned about the L26 and whether or not they had updated the rods which answers that.

EDIT: i forgot i had asked about some of this earlier here is the link to what the gearheads said

True, but a vendor shouldn't have to tell a customer that. It's unnecessary if that vendor is in fact supporting it's customer's well. If the customer can't see it to appreciate it, then that is the fault of the vendor, not the customer.

You are absolutely right. If Morad isn't supporting his customer's well then you shouldn't deal with him. I merely pointed out that supporting ANY 3800 vendor is better than not for the community.

Buying bad bottom ends to be massaged and resold would be bad business. We don't have vendors with bad business practices.

Now... back on topic.
