My 93 bonne has no passing gear. If i'm going at any low rate of speed (20-45mph)(or higher) I can floor the accelerator and only get a gradual speed increase. It used to drop down into a lower gear, and zippp.....i'm gone ! i don't know what has happened. I also noticed there seems to be no overdrive. And cruise control doesn't work. Don't know if the two are related, but thought i'd mention it. Please help !

A couple things that come to my mind: throttle position sensor (TPS) for the shifting and brake switch for the cruise. If you use your foot to pull back on the brake pedal, can you get the cruise to work.
I cannot remember the needed voltages for the TPS. Hopefully someone can chime in with that.

Yeh. I'd concentrate on the Cruise/Shift/Brake Switch. It not only disables Cruise, but also has input to the TCC, therefore no OD. It, therefore, may also affect your kick down. You need to check the switch(s) clearance. Hope this pix is readable.

There needs to be enough clearance that just the tip of each actuator plunger shows, exposing a "notch" on the end of each. The rest of the plungers should NOT show.
I think this may show better

a badly plugged fuel filter would make the transmission act up as you described.
when was the last time you had yours changed?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out today, and let you all know what my findings are.
