Just wanted to introduce myself...

Hi everyone,
I'm the new guy in town I guess.
I have been lurking here for a few months and joined today, because
I am getting a nice 2002 Bonneville here in a couple of weeks.
The Bonni is coming to me as part of an inheritence from my uncle. It only has 31000 miles
on it and was well taken care of. I drove it up from Waco Texas to the St. louis area back
in May and have been waiting on all the paper work to clear the courts. My father gave me a
call the other day saying that next week would be when he'd be dropping it off.
My family has always had/have a love of Pontiacs. Mom still has a Grand Am H.O. GT she won't let anyone drive.
And I still remember my dad picking up his 67 GTO and later a humongus 70-71 Bonneville 455. Funny
I remember him being sad when he picked up the Bonneville...we parked the GTO trade-in right behind
a bright green Plymouth Superbird (I think he still resents the family getting to big for the Goat)lol.
I have owned lots of Pontiacs also including a 73 Formula 455SD Firebird, an 81 T.A. that had a
301ci motor in it stock that we pulled out on week 3 and dropped in a 455 out of a Grand Prix.
The first week I worked at the Pontiac dealership I bought a Fiero GT 5 speed with T-Tops. Drove that wild little
beast for a year before ordering the first Turbo Grand Prix GTP, I think that was 1990. I also was privledged
to get to drive as a demo for several months a 25th Anniversary Trans Am Turbo. My boss, he was one of the owners also, decided one day
he wanted to drive it out to lunch..10 minutes later it was on it's top...he rolled it (and didn't get hurt).
He was goofing around in it on the highway and rolled it in a ditch...dohhh.
This will be my 6th pontiac as well as having worked at a Pontiac dealership(sales) for 6-7 years a while back.
One last tidbit about my family, my grandfather died while owning a late 50's Star Chief 4 door, my dads first brother
to pass away had a new T.A. at the time of his passing...aunty still drives it, and my other uncle above had owned
5 Pontiacs over the years and died while owning the above mentioned 2002 Bonneville.
All that said my wife is not too kean on me owning this car too long...lol she will change her mind after a few trips in it.
Plus my life insurance is paid up, so shes covered if I go to visit my uncles and grandfather...lol.
Thanks for this forum I enjoy reading it and have gained quite a bit on knowledge from it.
I also have a thread in the Audio section going it's about how I might manage to do a double DIN setup
in this Bonneville.
I'd appreciate any advice you guys might have...thanks
