Buzzing......

I put better speakers in my car about 2 weeks ago and the other day this buzzing noise started. It comes through the speakers and changes with RPMs, when I shut off the radio the noise stops. Is there any way something could have come unhooked?

Turn on the radio only under accessory power, without the engine running. The buzzing should be gone. Do you have an aftermarket amp?

The buzzing goes away when its in accessory. I have a pioneer head unit and it goes through the stock bose amp. When I put the speakers in all I did was connect the wires and everything was good until this started.

My Pioneer used to do the same exact thing. Then, I sold it. The buzzing never happened until I set up an aftermarket amp. Until then, it was clean and clear. You should get a little thingie that grounds to your chassis and has an RCA in/out set of connectors. That helped minimize my buzzing to a mere static noise that became inaudible with any other sounds on the line. You'll still hear static before and after songs play. See if you can get a really good power filter for the head unit.

I found that it happens when you are not running your set up with the right ohms. and i also made the mistake of pluging up a sub to my h/u to see if it work and after that i had alot of buzzing as well, but all good recommendations for the ground loop iso.
