Modifying Spark plugs

I have seen it done to plugs and am unsure about what results may come from doing so.

the modification is grinding back the ground electrode so that the center electrode is visible.

My thoughts is that this should NOT be done, however, I would like to hear other people's thoughts on this. I think that exposing more of the spark would help in terms of power gain..... but I doubt it.... the vehicle is DBW

I have a 2007 Lucerne with the 3.8 and have MSI coil packs on it.... I still have the OEM packs.

Input is appreciated. Thank you

Seems like a good way to waste some time and energy :booty2:

To the bet of my knowledge, the stock ignition system L67 (blue where they connect) with unmodified plugs has been 8s in the 1/4. The plugs were a colder heat range but I'm pretty sure they weren't unmodified.

It's a long standing general opinion of the 3800 community that there are no performance or reliability gains from aftermarket coils.
