Driver's side A/C blows hot, Passenger cold

Post by johntexas »

I have a 2003 SLE that does not have dual climate control. Of course since it's now summer it's decided to give me problems. The driver's side blows much harder than the passenger side but hot. But it will eventually start getting cooler when I've been driving at highway speeds for a while (however never as cold as pass side). The passenger side is blowing much less forcefully, but is 20 degrees cooler. I guess this is a mix door issue? Do non dual zone cars still have the same number of mix doors and my driver's side one has just gone out?

First of all, check and verify your freon level. Cooler passenger, warmer driver is classic low freon symptom.
