Tire size

Post by sazx44 »

On my 01 SSEi I've had 235/55/17 tires on stock wheels, then the stock wheels started to corrode so I switched to 255/45/17s on aftermarket wheels, I just got a set of stock wheels to put on and was wondering if anyone has done 235/60/17 tires before? I want the sporty tires to be the 255s and the 235s to be winter tires on two different wheel sets

I'm sure the 255/45's look out of place, being an inch smaller diameter, but you do you. If you put 235/60's on, they will look like monster truck tires. They will be 2" larger diameter than your aftermarket setup. You might even run into clearance issues with the strut spring perch. What not just stick to 235/55 for your winter tires?

Just for laughs, here are some 235/45's

The 255s actually look pretty good, I've gotten used to the slightly smaller size and I want a larger diameter tire for ground clearance maybe. I'm just testing the idea

235/60 will almost certainly rub through your washer fluid reservoir. My stock size tires have somehow managed to rub through my splash shields up front.
