2nd AC Delco new starter... Need help....

Post by wpbrink »

1999 Pontiac Bonneville. 2 OEM Brand New Ac Delco starters have been installed. Vehicle started and ran fine... Battery fully charged, I get a click when I attempt to start. I'm totally lost because it's something else obviously besides the starter....

If you jump the signal terminal to the +12v terminal on the starter, will it try to start?

If your security light flashing?

So it's either your starter relay, ignition switch or security system not allowing the starter relay to work. If its the security system, the security light will be flashing on the dash when you try to start it. Usually the security thing is the contacts on the key chip being worn down and/or dirty.
